for some reason. when i watch trauma i can never get into this film the way i can when i watch tenebrae or deep red or even the stendahl syndrome which i watch frequently. even his latest stuff like the card player i watch more than trauma. maybe he was experimenting with this and just wanted to do a different type film. the cast in trauma was good and the decapitation scenes were spectacular but aside from that. its not one of my repeat viewings. comments?

I like Trauma and I watch it quite a bit. I think it is better than The Phantom of the Opera (obviously), Sleepless, The Card Player, Do You Like Hitchcock?, and Jenifer.

There are plenty of threads about this film, though. Couldn't you have asked this in one of those?

My least watched Argento is Cat o Nine Tails. Not for any special reason though. Except maybe that there wasn't enough horror for me. Or it was boring. I like Trauma. A little bit. It's just underwhelming. I'll tell you one thing. That score didn't help the movie at all. That's one of my biggest problems with the movie.

I love Trauma and find it more enjoyable than some of his more recent fare, like The Card Player. I think things started changing more for Argento as a filmmaker around this film, and maybe hence the separation some people notice around this time in his career.

Haven't watched it for some time.I sold my "Trauma" disc and hope for a definitive DVD (or buy the UK one, whichever comes first).
But I do like it.And yes I do like Phantom too.

Blood vamp, just curious, why do you start a thread and never come back to it?

Phantom Of The Opera is my least favorite (and least watched Argento).
Trauma is definitely in the bottom 3 for me, though.

Phantom of the Opera would easily win on my least watched Argento list.

Or ever use the search function to look for the very same thread topics started by other people?

My least watched Argento movie is Four Flies (for obvious reasons). I own the following movies on DVD: Suspiria, Deep Red, Cat O Nine Tails, Stendahl Syndrome, Opera, Two Evil Eyes, Bird With The Crystal Plumage. On VHS (copied from laserdisc): Phenomena, Tenebre. On DVD-R: Sleepless, The Card Player. Out of those, my least watched is probably Stendahl Syndrome, not really because of any one factor, but maybe because it's a Troma release and the ugliness of the cover doesn't invite me to watch it ever.

I think I've seen Trauma once in the early 90s.

Phantom of the Opera is wretched. I have given that film three chances, and I still can't believe Argento made that piece of shit. It's the only film he's done that I don't like.

Still never saw Argento's Phantom, probably best I keep it that way. That's a shame since Asia stars in this film.

Asia is definitely not up to par in Phantom, and I usually love her. Nice to look at, but not much else.

Three good things I will say about Phantom: It has incredible cinematography by Ronnie Taylor (even though in some scenes it looks like an Italian TV movie), a great score by Ennio Morricone, and the cast is wonderful. So why, then, is it such a bad film? I blame the writing.

I like Trauma quite a bit as well as Phantom Of The Opera. My least watched Argento films are Cat O Nine Tails and The Card Player. Dou You Like Hitchcock can be put it this category as well since I know I won't be viewing it a whole lot. I guess I don't watch Tenebrae all that often either, but if I had it on DVD that would change. All I've got is a VHS duped from a Japanese laserdisc.

I've only seen Trauma once... but I've only seen Stendhal, Tenebre, Sleepless, and Inferno once as well. And there are a few I still haven't seen.

I just bought Inferno, want Trauma, and am waiting on the new Stendhal DVD if that says anything about how I feel about Argento.
