Erm, it would be impossible for Margheriti to get involved because he has been dead for four years (RIP).

Margheriti is dead... Sorry to break the news to you!!! (Edit: whoops got beat to it)
Too bad most of the true masters of italian horror like Lucio Fulci, Mario Bava, Riccardo Freda, Massacessi aren't there either, that doesn't leave that many directors to participate in this...
An episode by Michele Soavi would be really great though! I've been waiting for his come-back to horror for so long...

Sounds like it could have some potential. I'm not too up to date on who's alive and who's dead, but if they get the right people together this could turn out pretty sweet.

Sorry about Margheriti.I recently watched Apocalisse Domani and the interview with the man.Since his image was still fresh in my memory I wrote down his name without thinking.

Perhaps they could get Soavi to do a movie? He's back in business nowadays.Stivaletti could do something too.

I don't think it sounds bad.Not good but not bad either.
I have a Lenzi interview somewhere where he talks about TV movies and why he hates them  ($$$!)

I doubt it will become available internationally soon though.

    This sounds kick ass!!!

What are you talking about CP?

This could be the first step in bringing back the italian film industry.

Bava's "Murder House" sounds like a remake of A Blade In the Dark. :D

Lenzi's sounds the most interesting, for sure. I'm a fan of Martino, so while that synopsis for his doesn't sound that interesting, it could turn out OK. Bava's sounds like shit, and I would expect nothing else from him. He's a complete hack, and I'd be surprised if Mario didn't haunt him every night and tell him to get the hell out of the business and stop smearing the family name through the mud

Lamberto Bava lost his way along time ago. Ghost Son was atrocious.

Dunno if the aforementioned project evolved into this, but this might be of interest as well:

Thanks for the links, but after watching those trailers, it sure is set in stone that the italian movie industri will NEVER regain even a small fraction of the former glory of the 1960-1980:s.

None of them looked interesting, and the acting seems so horrible I just wanna drive of a cliff ;)

Seriously though, the acting in the Giallo´s from the golden age was also very uneven, but at least it was charmingly so. And why the hell did they hire crappy american C-actors instead of using italians? Kevin Sorbo and that Lois Lane actor from Smallville? Really???

Also the bad mid-90:s-direct-to-video-thriller look doesn´t help either. Are there no great cinematographers left in Italy? Giallos used to be very stylish and beautyful.

I had some hopes about the Italian Masters of Horror thing, but if it evolved to this, then those hopes have been brutaly stabbed in the back... :(
