Italian newspapers in the 60s/ 70s

    Last week I watched "So Sweet, So Dead" and I rewatched "Bird with the Crystal Plumage" (again??? Yeah, again!!!! So what??? :D:D;)).
    I noticed that Italian newspapers worked very quickly in those days.
    When a girl got killed during the night, the morning paper would already report about it. Even the police seem to have to read about it in the papers first! ;)

    Were/ are these papers really that quick? Or is it just artistic license?

    Isn't that the case in older American films too. I think so, I just can't think of an example right now.

    I think Johnny Dangerously did it best, both with newspapers and radio reports.
