I've repeatedly seen these on ebay for scary prices, somewhere around $300.00...what exactly is this release? What makes it even higher in value than the already rediculously priced japanese Bandai "Perfect Collection"?

Well, I really never fully lived the LD era. In fact, I realized about LDs when dad returned from Japan after making some businesses there but I assume that such LD has that price because the format is almost dead, there're some italian letters printed on the cover and the image (on the cover itself) is rare for a Dawn of the Dead movie. Am I wrong about this last thing?

I've seen lots of DOTD covers but never this one, kinda in negative style.

Apparently, according to this source , it's basically the same as the Elite boxset (which rocks, btw), save for the addition of a music cd and the nice artwork.

Thanks for the clarification. Very strange. The elite CAV set goes for around $30-40 these days...minus the cd, but it doesn't have any annoying burned-in japanese subtitles either. To each their own.

Somewhat off-topic, but the burned-in Japanese subtitles actually never bothered me until I started learning Japanese, then it became INFURIATING. Because I would be drawn to them, and try to read them, and see how close it matched what was being said on-screen. But since I'm still learning, they go by too fast, and I find myself rewinding the movie and sometimes pausing, so I can read the subs.

    Yeah, that's annoying

Someone sell me a copy of this please :)

Personally, I don't see why the cost of this LD is so high. I just want it for completionist's rationale.
