I never knew it was "inspired" by an old segment of Unsolved Mysteries. The first opening 20 minutes scared the shit out of me. I could just tell when the film started, watching the car far in the distance and slowly approaching the camera that we were in for one hell of ride. Salva sets up the beginning with an eerie isolated feel to the first film. The suspense just keeps growing until the end. Do you know what the Unsolved Mysteries episode was about? Was it based on a true crime?

Yes the Unsolved Mysteries segment was based on a true crime. A guy named Dennis DePue apparently murdered his wife after she told him she wanted a divorce. He then disposed of the body as shown in the re-enactment. He was ultimately caught when someone recognized him from the Unsolved Mysteries segment and committed suicide. I have to say he looks waaaay scarier than The Creeper.

Excellent point I hadn't thought of and it makes even more sense than my rationalization.

But he's not human himself so I'd imagine they'd just regenerate over time should they be severed. I always thought him taking body parts he needed was to just speed up the process of regeneration as he had a limited time to feed.

I thought Part 2 was the end of the series. I kind of remember seeing it but want to see it again.

No, it's been delayed many times. I cannot wait. I love Jeepers Creepers. The second was good too, but the first one knocked my socks off. One of my favorite new millennium horror films.

The original is classic. Especially if you ever drove away to college. It has a creepy feel once it gets going. I can't really remember much of Part 2 except for the blonde girl that was in the early seasons of Supernatural.

Absolutely. When the film opens with the long shot on this lonely country road and then you see the car in the distance, a feeling of dread washed over me. I remember those long country roads going back home. I knew right then that I was in for a hell of ride. It made the hair stand up on the back of my neck.

I'm surprised Gina Philips never became a bigger star. She's really great in the first movie, and definitely has a presence on screen, even in the straight-to-video horror films she has been in.

Excited to see her return, and incredibly excited for a new Jeepers Creepers movie.

Huge Gina Philips fan. Great news to hear her return to the franchise.

I gotta revisit part 2....... saw it in the theaters, thought it was dog shit, haven't seen it since.

Gina Philips was/is simply marvelous. I agree 100%. This is her chance at retribution. Cannot wait to see this.
