Looks alright will buy the bluray day 1 though
The trailer didn't blow me away but hopefully this is fun. It's so weird to think we're getting a third one after all these years. I wasn't sure it would would ever happen. Do they have a date for digital yet or is it just that initial screening at the moment?
Can't believe it's already been 14 years since part 2 came out
Was going to try and hit the theater for that one night screening since I saw the first two in the theater, but after seeing the trailer I think I'll be okay waiting. Has a really cheap look about it. The first two were beautifully shot but this has that flat, digital video look to it.
Apparently Tuesday is bargain day because my ticket was only $5.
Excited to check this out Tuesday!
Anyone else catching this one night only showing!?!
Yes, currently sitting in the theater watching Jeepers Creepers trivia on the screen.
This movie was a huge letdown. The whole thing felt cheap and rushed, and it makes the first two look like high art by comparison. I am a fan of 1 and 2, but this was an unnecessary cash grab. Part 3 should have premiered on the SYFY channel.
I thought it was better than Jeepers Creepers 2. A bit anti-climactic, it pretty much just bridges the gap between the first two movies and sets up for the next one. They went a little overboard with the slow-motion and bad CGI. But for the most part, I thoroughly enjoyed it. There's a part of me that couldn't believe I was seeing another Jeepers Creepers movie on the big screen all these years later.
Theater was completely packed, but everyone left during the credits. I was the only one who stuck around for the Jonathan Breck Q&A after the movie.
Caught it tonight as well. I was shocked as I bought the 2nd to last seat available.
The good? I can say I saw all 3 Jeepers Creepers flicks on the big screen.
The bad? Movie was fucking lousy. Someone mentioned SYFY channel. Spot on. Literally not one memorable sequence. Creeper looked cheap, effects were cheap, story was all over the place, no real characters worth giving a shit about......not even any good death scenes really.
I even went into this fresh. Didn't watch a trailer, no expectations........ I was bored throughout. Eye roll worthy set pieces...... OH and how bout the fact 90 percent of the movie took place during the day. Added to the overall cheapness to the effects if you ask me.
I loved the first film back when it came out (though it does go down a couple notches every time I rewatch it) and thought the second was mediocre. Was hoping we'd get something more like part 1 with 3, but instead it just continues the bad habits established in the sequel. Many annoying overtly assholish characters you can't wait to die (as opposed to the realistic brother/sister duo in the first) and another random psychic connection to lay out all the exposition. This county seems to be hopping with psychics who can lay out The Creeper's backstory whenever new characters need the info! Also the ending was so aggravating. Filmmakers, please give your stories endings. Don't use an entire film just to advertise the next one, cause who knows if it will ever actually get made. Easily the worst of the series for me.
I had briefly considered going to this, but the showing closest to me was already sold out as of Saturday. If this was as cheap as it sounds, the distribution by Screen Media Films and the switch to a one night only, Fathom Events screening makes a LOT more sense.
I love horror movies that either take place at night or transition into night. After all the freaks come out at night. 90% during the day is crazy.
This is sadly not sounding promising
$1,773,763 in 635 theaters is a far cry from the $35,000,000+ grossed by each of the two preceding films, but I have a feeling the budget fell short of $1,000,000, possibly not even $500,000.
I hadn't seen the original in about 10 years, so gave it a watch last night.
It's still fun, but damn is that sister annoying at times.
When the old lady shows up, and tries to help them, instead of listening to her, all the sister does is too complain and ask "WHAT DO YOU WANT?!? WHY ARE YOU HERE?!?"
If you would just shut the fuck up, for ONE fucking second, BITCH, you would find out that she is actually trying to HELP you.
Actually most of the characters are doing the most stupid things, even for the genre
I love how the main characters, stay around to watch the Creeper do his shit, instead of turning around and run/drive away.
Especially after ripping the head of the cop, and throwing it on their windshield
I still think the opening act is the most effective. Even though it's still a fun movie, it does become a bit stupid after a while.
But at the same time, that's part of the fun I guess
About the sisters return in the new one. Is it just a glorified cameo, like Andy in the latest Chucky movie? Or is she actually a part of the main cast?
Just like Andy in the last Chucky. Gina is around for about 6 seconds.
I'd like to know the actual budget of Jeeps 3....... if it's north of 250K I would be shocked. Such a shitty, shitty, corn filled shitty attempt at a sequel.
So does this have a digital or physical release date yet?
Not that I've seen, but it looks like there will be a repeat showing on Wednesday, October 4th.
Diabolik DVD has the Blu-ray up for preorder for $19.99 with a 12/26 release date.
