Likely it's for Merchants of Sex (Two Female Spies with Flowered Panties), as posted about a few days back from the photo from the distributor catalog.
Also, official announcement for Two Female Spies' with Flowered Panties from Severin: Jess Franco’s Insane ‘70s Erotic Thriller Restored In HD For The First Time Ever! In this long-unseen shocker from “one of filmdom’s most provocative creators” (The A.V. Club), the legendary Jess Franco (VAMPYROS LESBOS) pushes the limits of psycho-sexual insanity like never before: Lina Romay (of BARBED WIRE DOLLS and MACUMBA SEXUAL infamy) and Lynn Monteil (of Jean Rollin’s ZOMBIE LAKE and Franco’s SADOMANIA) star as a pair of cunning bisexual strippers released from prison to work undercover for the U.S. government. What follows is a deranged mélange of kinky threesomes, crazed S&M, depraved white slavers and audacious international politics that will leave even the most obsessive Franco fanatics slack-jawed in astonishment. Olivier Mathot (CANNIBAL TERROR), Joëlle Le Quément (WOMEN BEHIND BARS) and Claude Boisson (DEVIL HUNTER) co-star in this EuroSleaze rarity, now restored uncut in HD and loaded with exclusive Bonus Materials from the Franco archives. PLEASE NOTE: The first 3000 Blu-rays will include a strictly limited DVD of the salacious alternate Spanish cut of the movie: OPAL OF FIRE, MERCHANTS OF SEX! Special Features: *Two Cats In The Canaries: An Interview With Director Jess Franco *Filmmaker Donald Farmer Interviews Longtime Franco Composer Daniel White *Stephen Thrower on TWO FEMALE SPIES *Location Out-takes *Theatrical Trailer REVERSIBLE COVER B Color | 1980 | 91 min.
Will do. Tried looking at work but the region free player here doesn't display the region for some reason.
Good News: Region A friendly. Bad News: There's no way this is not a re-used standard def transfer. Even taking into account Jess' focus issues and the possibility this was shot in 16mm (?) there is zero detail in every shot.
My copy came in the mail on Monday. Agreed on the nice packaging you mentioned earlier. Haven't watched it yet, but that is very disappointing.
Awesome, that confirms it's actually region free! I haven't received mine yet, but it was originally shot in 35mm and I heard the transfer is from a theatrical print source that was in pretty rough shape and there's actually a special feature showing the before and after of the restoration. It also is supposed to look much better than the washed out and murky mis-framed DVD transfer, so as long as it's an upgrade from that I'll be happy. And from a couple of screen grabs I've found online it looks like it is: DVD: http://www.dvddrive-in.com/reviews/a-d/draculaprisonerfrank72.htm Blu-ray: https://www.diabolikdvd.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/draculafrankstill.jpg / https://www.diabolikdvd.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/draculafrankstill2.jpg
I do remember the DVD being borderline unwatchable but I'm surprised to hear it there was a restoration done. It's clearly a print (the black levels give it away) but be prepared: it's very soft. As in wide shots there is no detail in characters' faces.

who's releasing Sinfonia Erotica? I have wanted to see that one for a long time since I read it stars the woman who was the star of Love Letters of a Portugese Nun, which I consider one of Jess Franco's best movies I think.
From my discussion with Severin at a convention over a year ago it was one of a handful of Franco titles they had acquired, so when it does get officially announced it will be through them.
Likely the same transfer as the Redemption US Blu-ray although this will probably be Region B locked, and mostly the same extras - only thing new here is the Stephen Thrower interview.
I have Demons already, good movie, I wont' be rebuying it though, but glad to hear of the new Franco stuff, I am going to preorder Killer Barby's and 2 Female SPies with Flowered Panties pretty soon, but they are really expensive $35 and $30 on Amazon, might wait till they are a bit less.
