Scorpion Releasing makes it two on blu with their release of Jim O'Connolly's TOWER OF EVIL (1972). Soon after multiple mutilated bodies are discovered at Snape Island's abandoned lighthouse, a group of treasure seekers head to the same locale with dreams of riches. Joined by a private detective hired by one of the earlier victim's parents, it isn't long before these naked teen trespassers find the truth about the earlier murders, as they're cut, stabbed and slashed in similar manner. A surprisingly bloody, exploitative and crazed British slasher precursor, TOWER OF EVIL was way ahead of the curve, and well worth another look. Scorpion's hi-def print should be quite the upgrade over the prior Elite disc (which is now 14 years old; has it really been that long?). No word on extras yet.

I'll get it,always liked this one. When I was a kid I remember the Australian film SNAPSHOT was issued here theatrically under the title THE DAY AFTER HALLOWEEN.It was double billed with a repackaged TOWER OF EVIL,retitled BEYOND THE FOG,making for a great,FAKE John Carpenter sequel double feature ! It played at the old Bayne theater (now a Wax Museum !) near the boardwalk.Wish I had gone to see them.I miss those days, old single screen theaters and double bills, damn I'm getting old !

I own it on DVD. This is one I will just keep my DVD. I don't watch it enough to get it on Blu-Ray. I'm saving what I would spend on this, to purchase Incredible Melting Man on Blu-Ray instead. I don't own it, and have been waiting for years to get it on DVD or Blu-Ray. Can't wait. Just a few more weeks and it will be released.

One of the best pre-slasher boom slasher films, along with Dear Dead Delilah and Hands of the Ripper.

Saw this on TCM years ago and didn't think much of it. A decent atmosphere, but little else.

I once double billed it with HORROR HOUSE (aka THE HAUNTED HOUSE OF HORROR),another bloody early 70's British proro slasher. Not a bad two-fer.

I have the DVD but will certainly purchase if the transfer is good. Lots of nice posters for this film. It's been released in the U.S. under at least three different titles.

Just checked Movietyme and they say that it has been tested as region free. So does that mean Beaver are wrong with their region A claim?

Beaver is constantly wrong with his region coding claims, He always claims the Olive releases are coded, I've got a load of them and they're all region free.
