I don't know if anyone here ever visits his site Hysteria Lives?
    I do ;)

Anyway,in his latest update he writes:
Looks a long way but in a couple of weeks we're already 2009.
    Might be an interesting read.
I'm not into Slashers myself,I'm a Giallo geek, but sometimes they're quite the same.

    Sounds cool!

The last great book on Slashers that I read is the now unfortunately OOP Legacy of Blood.

You are posting on a horror movie message board. I'm pretty sure about 98% of us have come across that site lol, let alone probably spent a good amount of time there. :D

Glad to see this coming along, and I'm loving the graphical format. Looks more than your average paperback, that's for sure. I'm happy for Justin, too - his work on Hysteria is virtually unrivaled for the genre. It was his site back in the early days of the internet that really lit the fire for my slasher addiction, and here all these years later I'm still using it as a reference piece whenever I track down a new slasher.

Awesome indeed! I'm looking forward to this book. When is it meant to be getting released?

Edit: Never mind, it helps when you read the first post. I look forward to September.

Thanks guys! It's all very exciting. The book concentrates on the Golden Age of slashers (78-84), but traces its roots from the Grand Guignol, Old Dark House movies, through PSYCHO and the proto-slashers of the 60s and 70s; as well as sections on the German krimi and Italian giallo - right through to the present day.

As another taster, here's the front cover:

    Hey guys

Thought you might be interested in some of the images that sadly didn't make the book. First up is this rather tasty UK quad for WHODUNIT? (1982) (aka SCARED ALIVES aka ISLAND OF BLOOD). Funny to think that this may have got a UK cinema release - I say may, as the BBFC have no record of giving it a certificate!

Yeah, that's one of the best posters I've seen. Shame it didn't make the book. Thanks for sharing, Justin!
