I'm surprised I haven't seen any early reviews for Savage Weekend. Received my copy from diabolik yesterday. From what skimming I've done, it's beautiful and uncut. No weird window boxed opening. Finally a legit, high quality presentation! I might kinda miss the boom mics everywhere. Nah!!
Would love to see stills from this release vs. the old mill creek dvd

I ordered a copy of Savage Weekend from Diabolik as well. No shipping confirmation yet but it definitely still feels good getting it a bit earlier than the posted street date. BTW, wasn't this one of the Scorpion titles that was supposed to have been delayed by their change of distributors? I recall Walter talking about the issue on another forum.

It does feel good getting releases a bit early. Used to be the norm for me, not so common these days.
There is definitely a Scorpion Releasing connection. Their Web address is in the bottom of the back cover and the Scorpion logo appears on screen on on disc's start up. Don't know the story. It also has Fox & MGM logos on the cover. It's a hodge podge release I'm thankful happened. The improvements vastly intensify the impact. Some very atmospheric moments I could never feel before. I hope yours arrives soon. You'll love it!

After the ridiculously positive Madhouse disc replacement experience I couldn't resist the Kino 60% off sale. I grabbed The Crimson Cult, Hero and the Terror, Hickey and Boggs, The Naked Face, The Offence, and The Quartermass Xperiment--$11.99 each with no tax and free shipping. October is going to be expensive as usual.

I love Kino; so many great movies hitting Blu-ray. They're not all sparkling transfers but they look decent for the most part. And I love that they use original art. I'm expecting 3 titles tomnorrow: House of Long Shadows, Hornet's Nest and Navajo Joe - the latter featuring Burt Reynolds in a rare appearance in a Western. Looking forward to their 2016 slate!
