From Frank Darabont, the acclaimed director of The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, The Majestic and The Mist, comes this gripping thriller starring Tim Matheson (Impulse, Up the Creek), Jennifer Jason Leigh (Rush, Flesh+Blood), William Atherton (Die Hard, Oscar) and Hoyt Axton (Disorganized Crime, Gremlins). Clint Goodman (Matheson) enjoys the simple life he’s created in the small town where he grew up. However, his wife (Leigh) yearns for a more glamorous existence and begins an affair with the local doctor, who offers her a sinister but seemingly perfect way out. But the illicit couple’s insatiable greed produces some grave consequences that lead to a heart-pounding conclusion. With a teleplay by Mark Patrick Carducci (Pumpkinhead), based on a story by David A. Davies (Gas Pump Girls), Buried Alive is an engrossing suspense tale with stylish direction and fine performances that keeps you on the edge of your seat until the final frame.

Very satisfying to see Universal restoring and licensing their silents. That it's a 4k restoration gives me a little hope that there's some 35mm elements from Universal being used here but that may be hoping too much.

    Werewolves on Wheels (1971)
    • Brand New HD Master
    • Theatrical Trailer
    Color 85 Minutes 1.85:1 Rated R

The Devil's Advocates—an outlaw gang of Harley-riding hellions led by Adam (Stephen Oliver, The Naked Zoo, Motorpsycho!) and his old lady Helen (Donna Anders, Count Yorga, Vampire)—troll the dusty highways of the American Southwest in search of the next great kick, whether it be sex, drugs, or violence. After dispatching a pair of rednecks unfriendly to their lifestyle, the Advocates run roughshod over a gas station before taking to the road again, where they encounter a cloistered sect of Satanic Monks led by high priest One (Severn Darden, Battle for the Planet of the Apes). A mass-drugging, a ritual sacrifice, a topless snake-dance, and a scene-clearing fistfight ensue but it's too late; the spell has been cast, and the two shall become... Werewolves on Wheels! Equal parts road movie biker pic and black magic monster flick, this cross-genre film marked the directorial debut of Michael Levesque (Sweet Sugar), art designer on Russ Myers films Beneath the Valley of the Ultra-Vixens and Up! Also starring Billy Gray (TV's Father Knows Best) and pop singer Barry McGuire (Eve of Destruction), Werewolves on Wheels defies classification. Is it art? Is it exploitation? The answer is a resounding yes. Now see this cult classic for the first time in HD!

They have some fun titles coming out that are non horror and it looks like they are grabbing universal vault titles and putting them on blu ray and dvd.

Sweet, for whatever reason I never checked out Kolchak's TV show but I've run across it now a few times on MeTV and it's always been enjoyable but the quality is fuzzy. So I never thought this was shot on film! It looks like it was shot on video. But with all the exteriors they do maybe it was film (video was not very portable in the early 70's). IMDB says 35mm so that may be. I'd be a little cautious of the quality but if it checks out this may be a must own now for me.

I remember watching this show when it first aired. I was only 7 or 8 at the time. This was probably one of the influences on my lifelong love of horror along with the old Universal films that always played on television.
