Is the DVD Drive In DVD the only version worth buying? And is it still somewhere to be found?(I guess not)
Basically my question automatically turns into:Which DVD of Lady Frankenstein is the second best?

It's probably the best DVD but for the cost some prefer just the cheapie releases.

BTW, when ordering don't use the Paypal link on the DVD Drive-In page, that account isn't used anymore but Paypal is more than willing to take your money anyways. You need to use the Paypal link on the main page instead. E-mail the webmaster to get all the details.

Do they still sell the DVD?

I bought it from them earlier this year (I believe), I e-mailed the webmaster to confirm first and he said they still had stock and he told me how to send the money.

The page was working then but as I said the Paypal link wasn't, I guess after I pointed it out then the webmaster removed the whole thing. Before he had just removed links to the page but the page itself still existed.

It's simply best to contact DVD Drive-In, they're good about responding.

The rumor is true.Released by Biuo Omega and Anolis who brought us Blutige Seide:
My only hope is that it'll include an English option (sound or subs) but we'll see.

Very good news indeed. I wonder what quality of film elements they'll use for the video transfer considering the film negative was "misplaced" after Roger Corman got through with using it making the American cut.

Four discs though? At least one of those has to be a soundtrack or something. They must be considering including different cuts of the film or something.

Looks like the original cut was never released, at least Tim Lucas and company haven't been able to find it:

Sorry to hear Mel has died, never to see it get a final release, but at least he knew it was on the way.

Here's the original news posted by Tim Lucas back in 2004:

It did air on German TV, so there are video captures floating around.

Does anyone know if any video incarnation of this film actually contains the end credits? I have two different budget releases and they both omit them...and from what I can tell every version out there is taken from the same source...anyone have any idea if the old Embassy VHS had the credits intact?

I'm very disappointed that Time Walker is included in this collection because I was hoping for a blu-ray. Now it looks as if it isn't going to happen. I can only assume that means that they couldn't locate decent elements for a HD transfer. :(

I also prefer collection like this to have a theme, but aside from maybe a Corman's tenuous link to these films (what the hell does Corman have to do with Time Walker, Grotesque, or Lady Frankenstein?) I don't see any connection between the four. On top of that, it's also has a stupid title. "Vampires, Mummies, and Monsters"? The time I checked both vampires and mummies were classified as monsters.

I daren't go outside the Euro realm. Afraid I might like it ;)
And there will always be people like you around who provide me with the info I need! Thanks for both links. Seems like a good deal, even if I just want to watch LF.

Yeah... 2 cuts for you to enjoy...

Give a chance to Time Walker and Grotesque if you are into 80s horror.
