I've held off on this game because of mixed reviews, so I'm interested in feedback, myself.

  5. it's okay but not great....it's obviously using some other game's engine and just putting zombie skins on it.

but if you wanna kill zombies for a while it ain't too bad....

....although enough shots to the body the zombie dies without damaging the head

Yeah the reviews haven't been too kind to it. Hopefully the game George is working on will see light of day. Until then you can busy yourself with stubbs the zombie and dead rising when that gets released.

I played the demo, and to be perfectly honest, I wasn't impressed at all. Dated graphics, and shoddy controls really don't work. JUs mu .02, but I say rent it and don't buy. It's not even worth the cheap price tag.

Well I have to agree with VeniscuS.

This game reeked. IMHO it was very hard to.
Not enough bullets to kill and fighting zombies w/ your hunds sucks. Like you hit like a 3 year old. Zombie takes forever to go down, not just that,, one might be behind you and its kind of hard to get away, maybe its just me, that I like to kill them all, and instead...... I should be running away from them.
Overall.... I am glad I downloaded the demo, now I can go back to FRYS and return this damn game.

    :D

I already bought and beat that one though. (Working on Call of Cthulu and Evil Dead Regeneration right now.)

Get ready for a serious crapfest.

Yeah, that was my thought exactly, even with cinematics. It's not a bad game - I heard most of the problem that were in the demo (which i didn't tried) were fixed in the game (I heard that on this board). But the game did feel very, very short.

Nice, well let me suggest dragon quest VIII. Not really horror related, but if you love old school rpgs it'll will burn your time away.

I've heard all of the shitty reviews about this game but I still need to have it.Even if it does suck,I still think it's bad-ass that they made a Land of the dead game,it can sit next to my evil dead games.

  18. what annoys me is the breaking of the Romero rules

some zombie take five or six head shots until they die, some you can shoot in the abdomen repeatedly until they die and some vomit on you (some kind of noxious substance) and then explode in a haze chemicals

Just finished level 1 on this. I didn't pay for it, I have a copy!! Any game where you get to kill zombies is fun, but as Deus said, breaking Romero's rules is stupid, since it's supposed to take place in his universe.

I don't mind breaking Romero's rules. In Romero's world, every Zombie would take one shot to the head, and half the game would be running around with no ammo.

Movies don't translate perfectly to videogames. This is what's called "adaptation".

Not a great game, but if Romero's rules had been followed perfectly it would have been boring as hell IMO.
