Only 4 minutes of extra footage hopefully means extra gore...
I thought they used cg and stand-ins to mask some of the gore so they could just edit that out later without really messing around with the run-time of the film. Whatever, I'll be happy with a new Romero zombie film in my collection either way.
Universal has revealed just a few details on extras for George A. Romero's Land of the Dead. Exclusive bonus features for the Unrated Director's Cut include behind-the-scenes footage, "Bringing the Dead to Life," "Zombie Casting Call" and more. The unrated cut will feature zombie gore shots that were obscured for the R-rated theatrical edition, as well as four additional minutes of scenes and newly added bloody gags.
Count me in for an unrated purchase! Not the best movie in the series, but enjoyable nonetheless.
I'm really hoping they include a commentary with Romero/Nicotero/Savini.
^ Yeah, it would be pretty disappointing if there isn't a Romero commentary included. A Romero/Dennis Hopper track sure would rule.
Cover artwork is up. Same as the theatrical poster.
Sounds like an excellent release!
I really wanted more from the unrated cut. Like some character depth.
Works for me.
www.dvdanswers.com has final specs and artwork for unrated dvd
It is shot in 2:35.1.
There's a thread on the hometheaterforum that states there will be a Japanese DVD of the Theatrical cut in Widescreen, but it has no links to verify the post.
Unrated sounds good to me but seeing as how Devil's Rejects are getting a suped up release you'd think Romero's would at least equal it in supplements.
this needs to be unrated 2 dvd set but will probably be just like universal's dawn remake single disc
universal is too cheap to make it a 2-disc set.
They'd rather make a double sided disc and sell it for the same price.
