Fantastic Four: The Complete 1994-95 Animated Series
I recently bought the (somewhat new) Blue Underground Blu-Ray of Lucio Fulci's CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD aka THE GATES OF HELL.
Man they really cleaned this up big time over the old Anchor Bay DVD release. I mean it's not just the resolution increase but the print is so much cleaner and not grainy at all (the film has mostly always looked very grainy in just about all past video incarnations other than an Italian DVD which I never owned but saw screen grabs of).
Just now I did a google search and it looks like Blue Underground also did a standard DVD release of this new print (or transfer I should say). If you don't have Blu-Ray and don't intend to upgrade anytime soon I would say the DVD is worth it. Again this print is SO much better (especially in terms of grain ... or rather lack of it) compared to the old Anchor Bay release.
Looks like this came out in mid 2010 so I'm wondering why it took me so long to get it now LOL
I think my next purchase will be the Blue Underground Blu-Ray of PROFONDO ROSSO (my favorite Dario Argento film). Of course I have the old Anchor Bay DVD but dammit as much as I hate to buy stuff over and over (VHS then LaserDisc then DVD and now Blu-Ray) some films just demand it heh
BTW here is a nice review (with screen shots) of the CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD Blu-Ray:
BD used (Bloackbuster 5 for $20 sale)
Friday the 13th (original uncut)
28 Weeks Later
Halloween II (Rob Zombies, I'll keep trying to like it for $4)
30 Days of Night: Dark Days
Sucks so many titles are rental versions now with movie only. They had Clash of the Titans 2010, Nightmare on Elm Street remake, The Town (love the extended cut, but it's not on the rental version, Library has the real bd) and probably another 4-5 I wanted, but not movie only versions and esp. not theater version only for The Town. Glad that random copy of Friday was there with the random copy of 28 Weeks Later.
Return of the Living Dead
Friday the 13th (1980)
Paranormal Entity/From The Dead Of Night Double Feature
Subspecies Triple Feature
Just picked up Highlander blu. It is only $5.00 at Target.
I dumped some of my crap discs at Best Buy together for their $5 trade-in/recycling program. You give them any garbage DVD you have, they give you a $5 coupon to use on a selection of a hundred or so Blu Rays.
Friday the 13th 3-D - $5 after coupon
Grindhouse - $10 after coupon
Rambo - $5 after coupon
True Grit (Coen Bros) - $5 after coupon
True Grit is $19.99 in the ad I think, but in store it's actually $9.99, so $5 after dumping my sealed Jeff Foxworthy's Comedy Classics DVD.
Also got the 2-disc Blu-Ray of Inception (well, 3-disc if you count the digital copy, but I refuse to acknowledge those) at the pawn shop for $4. I love my pawn shop guy, the DVDs are 5 for $10, and he'll usually tell me to grab another disc or two for free.
Other random stuff:
The Grudge 2 Steelbook - $3 at Big Lots
Redneck Zombies - 2-disc - $5 at Wal-Mart
What's Happening!!: The Complete Third Season
Heroes: Season Four
