Finally said to myself "fuck it"......October is quickly approaching and I got myself the 10 disc Halloween blu ray set!!!!! I feel like a little kid......I've watched Halloween on vhs year after year, last year I finally bought the widescreen dvd and I thought it was amazing. Now this year I'm taking it up a notch. I anticipate watching parts 1 through H20 this year in glorious HD!

Yeah I know I'm years behind. Oh well LOL

Didn't care for the first half (like pretty much everyone) but it didn't ruin the entire movie for me. The second half is great and pretty much a word for word, panel by panel adaptation of the graphic novel. They should've just stuck with the Killing Joke stuff and forgot about the prologue. Yeah, it would've only been a 40 minute movie, but when you're just padding out the runtime with useless shit, what's the point?

And yeah, alot of people bitched about the animation but I thought it looked fine.

You should definitely read it sometime to see just how faithful it is. It's super short (you could probably read it in 30 minutes) and I'm sure you could find it online somewhere.

Awesome picks. I've been debating with myself whether or not I need an upgrade of The Power. I rewatched it recently and enjoyed it more than I did the first time around. It's a movie with some cool elements yet also one of unexploited potential. For a movie about an evil Aztec deity, there is precious little Aztec about it.

Thanks, dude. I had the Scorpion DVD of The Power. Didn't watch it under the best conditions to be honest. We were living in Florida at the time, which I especially hated beyond belief (could write volumes about my hatred of Florida). I did my best to watch The Power while we had family visiting from out of state. Bad idea. Kept getting interrupted, stopping & restarting, frequently rewinding, people talking over the film, etc. I do remember the Aztec aspects are light. I think what may have inspired this purchase was the Nightmare USA segment & even more so the online Blu-ray review I saw which looked like a nice upgrade from the DVD. I will probably enjoy the film a lot more watching here in the desert. So much happier back in Arizona & the "at home" movie viewing is so much more fun.

And here I was thinking Florida was all about Spring Break, alligators, and The Golden Girls...

I can see how watching the movie under those conditions would be less than optimal. I have certain movies, like The Alien Factor and Bloodsucking Freaks, that I prefer to watch alone, as my family and friends largely lack the sophistication needed to appreciate them.

Florida is all that, man...in addition to: suffocating humidity (my desert blood can't bear it), tropical storms, hurricanes, flooding, sinkholes (more than any other U.S. state), exorbitant premiums for car insurance & health insurance, insufficient highways, road construction that lasts forever, excessive traffic, home to the top two metropolitan areas for pedestrian & bicyclist accidents/fatalities, high crime, salt air that makes everything rust, hell on earth for allergy sufferers, overpriced rental properties that are mostly dumpy & dated, I could go on & on...Apologies to any Florida residents reading this.

I strongly agree that certain films are best watched alone. I will say this though, my wife is very tolerant with films. Grindhouse films, exploitation films, Russ Meyer, Jess Franco, David Lynch. She may not be a fan of everything I am a fan of, but has an appreciation & doesn't get offended. I'm fortunate in that regard.
