That's a shame because it sounds like a fun movie. I would be up for seeing it on DVD.
bruce holocheck at morbius told me
Well it's on it's way in October... can't bloody wait!
I'm doubtful we'll ever see Don't go in the woods,Night school,The Kindred,Slaughter high,The Curse or Splatter University.
Eventually everything will come out on DVD.***
Actually, this isn't completely true. In fact, there are several movies that were released in theaters that haven't even gotten VHS releases yet.
Hell, there are thousands of films that aren't on DVD yet. I remember the horror sections in some rental stores had hundreds of titles years ago. Very obscure releases abounded...most of those are still hard to get on VHS, let alone on DVD. Unless they show up in multi-packs like Brentwood releases, we'll most likely never see many of them on DVD.
It's a sad thought but true that the only way many horror movies will be seen on DVD will be on a multi disc set like the ones from Brentwood. Speaking of which, are there any of those Brentwood packs that someone recommends?
Most of the 10-pack horror sets have at least a few good ones in them. I'd recommend these:
Fright Night (10 movies)
Tales Of Terror (10 movies)
Vault Of Horror (10 movies)
Deadtime Stories (10 movies)
Night Chills (10 movies)
Curse Of The Dead (10 movies)
Beware of the 4-packs from Brentwood, unless you just want those four specifically...many of the movies in those sets are also in the 10-packs that are out.
I've noticed that about the 4 packs. They contains movies already included in the 10 pack sets. I have the Fright Night set and I'm actually pretty happy with it. Sure the film quality isn't great and there aren't any special features but the movies themselves aren't bad. My only question is, are these movies uncut?
A few here and there are cut versions, but I've found many of them to be uncut.
Anyone remember either The Mutilator or The Final Terror with Adrian Zmed..doubt we'll see these on DVD anytime soon.
I would love to see The Mutilator on dvd-I have the old vestron uncut release on tape and have watched it here and there. that was a fun movie with some decent gore.
I bet the slasher flick " Night of the Demon " from 1980 will never make it to DVD , the one about Bigfoot that goes on a bloody rampage . Would be nice as this is a rare film , brought the video from a garage sale years ago . Another film that will sadly never make it to DVD is " Superstition " , a great Canadian horror slasher from 1982 . I guess i can only hope as it seems now that alot of early horror flicks are finally making it to DVD.
The Mutilator is out on DVD as an import released by Dragon. I bought it about 6 months back...pretty good quality too.
If interested you can order it here: http://www.xploitedcinema.com/dvds/dvds.asp?title=442
Warning: It was also released in the UK by Vipco and that DVD version is cut! The Dragon DVD is fully uncut.
It's getting a R2 release in the UK on the 18th September... uncut I hear as well!
I would love to see The Final Terror on DVD!
