Fred Dekker dug up the address for the rights holders to both MONSTER SQUAD and his previous film, NIGHT OF THE CREEPS (which also screened last weekend and got the midnight audience pumped up as well). So, if you want either MONSTER SQUAD or NIGHT OF THE CREEPS in a special edition with cast commentary, special features (he mentioned over 13 minutes were cut out of MONSTER SQUAD for time) and digitally remastered picture and sound, then you need to write to the addresses below. Keep it civil, but let them know how much you love the movie. Send a postcard, letter, brick, flowers... anything that'll show the studio you want to buy this DVD. If you want a MONSTER SQUAD DVD write to: Mr. Sumner M. Redstone Viacom 1515 Broadway New York, NY 10036 If you want a NIGHT OF THE CREEPS DVD write to: Mr. Michael Lynton Mr. Bob Osher Sony Pictures Entertainment 10202 West Washingtopn Blvd. Culver City, CA 90232 Now we've been pushing this on DEADPIT.com since the beginning, but ONLY THE FANS can make this happen, send as many nice non-threatening letters as you can! And always remember: ROCK UNTIL DROP!
Man I really want these, but Viacom is Paramount's parent company and Sony just also joined my boycott list. Don't know if I could keep the letters nice but I guess I'll try for the cause. I would cross the picket line and buy NOTC though. Not sure about MS as I don't rememeber it at all, though I'm sure I've seen it.
Don't know if it will help, but I already got my letters typed up and ready to go. I'll do anything for NIGHT OF THE CREEPS. PS Love the icon Demon.
No wonder these haven't been released, both studios are notorious for sitting on things. Viacom though has recently announced they plan to release everything in their vaults, fast tracking a lot of content now. Mostly TV, but Monster Squad's got the best chance I'd say of the two. Sony's doing the opposite according to inside reports.
There are a couple of petitions online also. http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/TheMonsterSquad http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/monstersquad (I don't know why there is 2) but sign both P.S.- I heard that on Monster HD (which I don't have) just recently played The Monster Squad. In fact they played it 3 times this month.
I've written and sent my letters! I wrote them regarding The Monster Squad only, since I've yet to see Night of the Creeps.
I'd write, but studios only budge when they've got mail by the truckload filling their offices. Shit like Family Guy gets noticed after millions of people respond and I honestly don't see more than 1,000 letters tops getting to either company. Besides, I still stick by the fact that eventually everything on the planet will be on DVD. I can wait it out.
eh, iguess id sign but i already have them on dvd besides, after meeting tom atkins in person, i am certainly not going to make any big efforts on his behalf. iguess he's not the only one involved but one person can ruin something for a whole bunch.
I've met Tom Atkins and he was very cool. He talked a bit and treated my wife and I with respect and a smile. I'm curious what you don't like about him.
I've met Tom Atkins as well. When I told him my wife was a huge fan of Night of the Creeps he had me call her on my cell and he threw out "Thrill Me" to her. Classy guy. Plus I got an awsome Atkins T-shirt from him
