I saw NOT QUITE HOLLYWOOD in the theater last year and absolutely loved it.I really hope this plays the arthouse circuit,it looks like great fun.I have some of the flicks in the trailer on DVD,glad to see I'm not the only guy who gets a kick out of these movies.

I'm not an Ozspoiltation fan so I never checked out NQH, but I love asian exploitation so I'll be all over this one.

Awesome! Loved NQH, so I'll be all over this and hopefully with another list of must have movies.

I just wanted to quote this one...I wasn't into Ozplotiation (and I'm still not), but Not Quite Hollywood is just a great doc about B-grade cinema in general. I think anyone into ANY kind of exploitation and low-budget filmmaking would love NQH. Don't dismiss it so easily

It's playing the festival circuit right now, so depending on who picks it up for distribution it could also do a limited theatrical run.

do it, i was there last night, and it's definitely worth seeing. while not as good as not quite hollywood, there is still a LOT of great stuff in this film. I was a little surprised, given that NQH is almost 2 hours long, that this is only 84 mins, so i guess my only major complaint is that it wasn't longer.

The DVD has 90 minutes of interviews and stories not in the final film.

Overall though, I didn't like this as much as as Not Quite Hollywood. A bulk of the time is spent on the Corman movies, which is fine with me because I like Corman movies. But it's familiar ground, which was also covered in American Grindhouse. NQH introduced me to a lot of movies I'd never even heard of, and I found it incredibly informative. Machete Maidens wasn't as groundbreaking.

But it's still a lot of fun. Entertaining viewing.

I agree with Paff. It's a fun and entertaining watch but it doesn't come close as being as awesome as Not Quite Hollywood. I can watch that doc over and over again.

listening to the commentary by mark hartley, i couldn't help but wonder if someone involved with new world, or shout factory, or both was stonewalling them. he mentions not being able to find any copies of firecracker, or up from the depths, and refers to cheri caffero as having "dropped off the face of the earth." But as we all know, shout factory has released both films recently, and firecracker included a commentary with caffero. interesting...
