It's a well-known name in horror circles so slasher fans will know what they're getting, namely more splatter, I say bring it on! :)

I seriously hope this happens. I kind of get the idea about a remake / sequel. Say what you will but SHAFT (with Sam Jackson) was a pretty good example of this. The movie was kind of corny in spots, but it actually got better as it went along. If Madman 2 turns out half as good ,I'll be happy.

  3. Hopefully a new edition of the original will be released with the commentary!!

We're trying to figure out now the details of getting the DVD back in print with some nice extras. The producer supposedly has some footage (perhaps cut scenes?) in storage. Plus Paul would be more than happy to do an interview for a new disc. Keep an eye out for the next issue of HorrorHound magazine #11 which will have a new interview with Mr. Ehlers and showcase some rare Madman Marz memorabilia................................Larry

OUCH - that Shaft remake was some of the worse sh*t I've even seen served up at a cinema. Man was that bad! I have no doubt this remake/reworking will have no trouble rising up above that garbage.

I didn't care for it too much the first time I saw it. I didn't think it was that bad.Shaft wasn't really a remake, he was actually the original John Shaft's nephew so it was a sort of sequel. It would be cool if they could set the new Madman movie in the present, with the original as part of the campfire tale. That was the only comparison I was trying to make with the Shaft movie. Although, I would still take Shaft over a lot of these new so called "action" films (Crank, Shoot 'Em Up,War, god those moves sucked).

Having Ross would indeed be cool but from my understanding she, to this day, acts like Madman never existed on her resume'.....................Larry

It's really a shame she seems to look back on the film with a negative attitude.

I wonder what happened to the other Madman girls...Harriet Bass and Jan Claire?

One of my all-time favorite horror movies-I have my doubts about recapturing that magic, but what the hell! Let's give it a shot and bring it on!

According to the official facebook page, Anchor Bay has gotten behind the long-rumored project. So things should finally get moving on this.

Last I heard, the producer was talking about doing a 3D remake?

I had heard awhile back something about Kurt Angle being cast to play Marz. I hope this isn't true.

Ironic given the fact Code Red owns the rights to Madman.

They don't own the rights, they've only licensed the video rights from the rights owners.
