    Magic in the Moonlight (2014)
    Directed by Woody Allen
    7.5/10

I am not sure why Woody Allen's latest film is so badly reviewed and maybe it is because of my low expectations but I found this film very enjoyable indeed. Allen's annual entry is a romantic comedy about an Englishman (Colin Firth) who is brought in to help unmask a possible swindler (Emma Stone). The film is stunning to look at and all the performances are great, especially Firth who carries the film which is a charming breezy tale that is not spoiled by being able to see the twist coming. It may not be as dense as last years award winning Blue Jasmine (it is quite light in comparison) but I found it more enjoyable and probably my favorite of Allen's period pieces.

I quite enjoyed it. The script felt like something Carey Grant would have been in in the 30's or early 40's.It was charming. Good ensemble.

Oh yea, you're right, I can definitely see Grant in the lead :)
