we added this movie to our collection a while back and i just got around to watching it. ladies and gentlemen we have a winner! this movie in one viewing has moved itself to the very top of my horror list. number 1 so far. it does with manequins what spasmo could only have wet dreamed about. and i have to say that i'm proud to be 1 of 5000 owners of the collectible tin right of the bat. i would have totaly missed this title if i wasn't after shiny tins:D i am totaly happy about liking this movie so much:) and then to top it off isn't this the coolest soundtrack cd you've ever seen?

Bought the original LD, bought the tin.
What can I say? It's simply an amazing movie and extremely atmospheric.
This was a very pleasant surprise when I first watched it. It's a genuinely good movie and one that I never tire of viewing.
The AB documentary is a corker.
And yes, the CD's a winner, too.....

And she's still looking good. Met her at the Tomorrow Never Dies Bond Christmas party at Planet Hollywood. She currently does the rounds signing pics at the Birmingham Memorabilia Shows at the NEC...next one's due soon, I believe.

  6. Maniac is a fantastic movie.

Glad to hear that Caroline Munro is still doing well. She is still one of my all time favorite ladies! :)

A great film with an outstanding cast. One of the best scores to boot. I have a CD-r of it in my truck and play that and Suspiria's one quite often. And yes I have the tin too. ;)

I sold my TIN about a year ago for 65.00 on Ebay.

I kinda regret selling it,, but 65.00 :D

I am sure a better edition will come out sometime.... I hope?

Maniac. Good flick. This one guy I know on internet-land doesn't like the film because it is in the the killer's POV. Ok, so? Weird. The ending, although not totally original (I believe "Don't Go in the House" did it before) is really effective and frightening. And it packed more of a punch than DGITH anyway. Who has seen the pseudo-sequel "The Last Horror Film"? That was an interesting film with a backdrop for a slasher I hadn't seen prior or since (The Cannes Film Festival.)

I've got both the LD and the Tin.

I didn't get the Elite DVD since it was a port of the LD.

A while back maybe a year and half or more I did a little essay on why Maniac is the "Citizen Kane of Horror Movies". I posted it here, so if Dave has not done any pruning it may still exist. Look it up for a laugh!

I got a lot of static at HTF when I posted it here though! ;)

I'll say it again. BOO! Bring back the animated one!

A buddy and I were at the record store and we found a sealed Maniac tin for sale, so he bought it. I saw it last weekend for the first time. I thought it kicked ass, especially the sick ass head explosion.
