Tim Lucas will be doing commentary for three of'em:

July 30th was Bava's birthday, so happy belated birthday Mario! You've had a great year so far and it's shaping up rather nicely for the rest of it.

Does lucas have to be involved with everything bava? There are plenty of other bava scholars that I find just as interesting. More interesting, actually

I agree! Lisa & the Devil and Baron Blood are two of my personal favorite Bava films. 5 Dolls for an August Moon is very underrated as far as I'm concerned.

Don't get me wrong, the first box set was great. I just think this selection is even better. :)

Hoping we get some new bonus features on these discs, especially Lisa & the Devil.

I'm hoping the sound on A Bay of Blood has been improved from the Image disc. The levels on that track were all wrong; you had to turn up the volume to hear the dialogue, but the music and sound effects were TOO loud!

I completely agree; and if there's one Bava that needs to be re-tooled from prior releases it's certainly this one. I so hope if it's included they do it justice. One of the great slashers, IMO.

I just... wish they'd have made a horror set and then a set with his other movies.

Here's the other 2 pages. I don't think there's any news that hasn't already been posted.

Here's some more info from the Tim Lucas Video Watchdog blog. I'm glad to see that House Of Exorcism is included with Lisa & The Devil.

anyone know if anchor bay owns blood and black lace? it is one of my fav. horror films, but the audio and video quality on my edition is atrocious. i chose extras and price over quality, and skipped out on the image editon. this is one film that needs a release!

Seems like VCI is peppering another BLOOD AND BLACK LACE release this fall according to the sexgoremutants.com site.
VCI may also be releasing a newer, spunkier verision of CHILDREN SHOULDN'T PLAY WITH DEAD THINGS.
I'm holding out for an anamorphic RUBY...I hope that's soon, too.

As for the next Bava collection, I got rid of my old discs. I have a feeling, Tim Lucas' essays will not be included. All the discs on this new round need work especially BARON BLOOD and LISA AND THE DEVIL...they look good, but my laserdiscs look better. The original grain and the DVD noise make for a messy DVD viewing.
