If it is, it is. I seriously doubt that I would rebuy the single version, as it was never a "must buy" here to begin with.
Don't laugh!Dammit  Nah,it's not the end of the world but it's annoying. They probably paid lots acquiring the rights.... But it's a great movie, the box only contains slimcases and it's Bava Just don't do it again AB! What's left for a third box anyway?
I held off buying it just in case it would be released in a second boxset, so im pleased that this box has both versions included.
FUCK! The hell of it is I owned all the Image Entertainment ones already, Kidnapped was the only OOP Bava I didn't already have. So this entire AB line up is now a double dip. FUCK!
Oh, there's plenty left for a third box! The Whip and the Body and Shock are two films I'm dying to see. And Anchor Bay already owns the right to Shock, I think ... This box looks like a dream. That said, I already own two of the films included (well, three if you count Lisa & House as two separate films) but there's so much else there that I doubt I'll be able to resist! Now, if they'd only have the hear to release Kill, Baby ... Kill! as a standalone release, then I'll REALLY be happy!
Oh, and Blood and Black Lace might just as well be a part of vol. 3, since the last release was the WORST DVD IN THE HISTORY OF DVDs!!!! No, really, someone must do that film justice. Preferably someone not in Germany.
AB only have the rights to the Alferdo Leone rights. Blood and black lace along with Hachet Honeymoon are not part of his rights. Vol. 2 will likely be the final one, unless AB scrape up some new rights.
I received mine on Friday. Nicely done set, just like the first volume...in virtually the same packaging style which is good. 5 Dolls for an August Moon and Four Times That Night are on a flipper disc. All of the others are single-sided. Oh, and the Kidnapped disc does indeed include Rabid Dogs just like the individually sold disc does.
Here's your answer: "Thankfully, the English mono sound is a vast improvement over the Image disc, which became distorted on almost every high pitch sound effect or loud piece of dialog heard in the film. The English track here is clean for the most part, with dialog coming off a bit low in some parts. " From: http://www.dvddrive-in.com/reviews/a-d/bava26875.htm
the first thing i did as soon as the box arrived was throw in BAY OF BLOOD to check it out. thankfully its a big improvement, although i believe the sound for this film will always be less than spectacular. its still a little thin, so dont expect to be blown away, just satisfied.
That's the one most people want,so my guess it'll be the only one actually NOT sold seperately at all. The've done that before. We'll see...
