Last night's viewing was Enter The Devil. It's a neat, if unremarkable, little regional horror film from Texas. Good atmosphere. It's a bit of a slow burn, but never feels like it due to the brief running time. According to Kim Newman on the disc, this was a "video nasty", which is completely baffling as it's virtually bloodless. Going into the extras, for some reason my brain processed "Kim Newman" as "Stephen Thrower". Is it bad that I was super disappointed when I clicked on the extra and Kim Newman appeared on the screen? Nothing against Newman, I just wanted the Nightmare USA guy. Maybe not a must-own, but the movie is at least worth a viewing. I preferred this to The Devil's Rain. And it does look super nice on the rack next to Hack-O-Lantern. Those damned numbered spines might compel me to buy everything they release. It's a good thing I'm already completely sold on Final Stab, Nightmare, Fiend, and Mr. No Legs. It took over a year between release #1 and #2, so they're definitely moving at a manageable pace for my wallet. Really love what Massacre Video has been doing so far.
