To me he will always be the dirtbag Judas from Bonnie & Clyde but he really stood out and brought something that no other actor would have to everything he was in.

Wow, 80? I didn't realize he was quite that old. He was in a lot of great films over the years though.

Michael J. Pollard was great at playing such quirky characters in a wide variety of films and television shows. Rest in peace.

A talented and unique actor. Always remembered him from BONNIE AND CLYDE and the STAR TREK episode "Miri". Rest In Peace.

Okay I'm having a Michael J. Pollard/Mandela moment. As a kid in the 70s I collected a lot of the Mego super hero figures. I never had the Mr. Mxyzptlk figure but I used to see it in the toy stores all the time. Somewhere along the way I got it in my head that the figure was based on Michael J. Pollard and that he had played the role in the 60s Batman TV show. (All the other Mego villains were from Batman so I assumed he was too.)

I just looked all this up to find I was completely wrong, although Pollard did go on to play Mr. Mxyzptlk in the 90s Superboy TV series. I wonder if some casting director knew the Mego figure and noticed the similarity the way I did. Looking at the figure now I see less Michael J. Pollard and more some other actor I can't put my finger on. Maybe Richard Widmark?

Looks a bit like Dick Shawn (ANGEL,THE PRODUCERS).

Man, is Rob Zombie reporting these deaths in order to jump in front of the press narrative and plug his films? Anyways, this is sad news.

An iconic character actor who has appeared countless times over the years in movies and television becoming like a childhood friend you see on occasion. I especially like him though in the Lost in Space episode as an unique Penny-centric narrative which goes much further into the fantasy realm. There's something indescribable that he brings to his rolls. They're off kilter in such an earnest way...

Now cracks a noble heart.—Good night, sweet prince,
And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest!

LOL he did? That is such perfect casting. I've got to see these now.

I liked this actor - sad news! I secretly hoped he would one day play Lucio Fulci in a biopic. He was so funny in "Roxanne" and "Why Me?".

Loved his quirky dirty old man character in Sleepaway Camp III. He was also great in American Gothic. He played the oddball weirdo very well. RIP
