    US PRE-ORDER COMING SOON!

    Synopsis:

THEY CAME FOR DINNER…TO FIND THEY WERE IT!!

Microwave Massacre stars legendary stand-up comedian and actor Jackie Vernon as Donald, a disgruntled construction worker whose wife’s predilection for haute cuisine drives him to cannibalism.

Donald unwittingly stumbles upon a solution to his two major problems in his life – his nagging wife and his lack of tasty meals – when, one night, he bludgeons his better half to death with a pepper grinder in a drunken rage. Thinking on his feet, Donald dismembers the body and sets about microwaving the remains, which turn out to be rather delicious. Trouble is, now he’s got a taste for human flesh that needs satisfying…

Eschewing all notions of good taste, Wayne Berwick’s Microwave Massacre is a deliciously depraved exercise in political incorrectness that has gone on to gain a cult following thanks to a characteristically deadpan performance from lead Vernon, who delivers such choice lines as “I’m so hungry I could eat a whore”. Vegetarians need not apply!

Ha ha, now there's a blast from the past, not a great movie, but nice to see it resurrected for a new generation to hopefully enjoy, good work arrow, they have been releasing some obscure titles recently.

Knowing some of the other movies you like, I'd guess that you'd like Microwave Massacre.

It's 80's badness, but I enjoy it. It almost seems like an SOV film, but is shot on film. It will be interesting to see it on Blu-ray from a film source... the old VHS and DVD editions weren't exactly of the highest quality.

Yeah, that's what it reminded me of.
And, except for maybe two of them, I'm not a big fan of those films.
I like trash, but there is also (sadly) a limit to what I can endure, without completely loosing my last bit of sanity :D

Microwave Massacre is worth it for the opening scene alone. And honestly, its not THAT bad...I think it has a certain charm to it. I guess you just have to "get" Vernon's dry comedic delivery.

Vernon is seriously one of the most underrated comedians... It seems his biggest claim to fame is voicing Frosty the Snowman, but he inspired both Dangerfield (when he was on the brink of quitting showbiz) and Seinfeld....talk about getting no respect.

This movie. Man, I just do not know. Even my type of cheese exploration never really crosses into what I consider to be Rodney Dangerfield-esque humor: you know, bugged eyes, saying every single immediate pun that comes to mind, the lumbering, slummy dolt who does wrong but is still somewhat likeable, etc. Not my bag. And that's exactly what Microwave Massacre is: Crude, lewd, and all about that food! Sadly, the titular microwave gets very little screen time.

Sure, I had a few laughs, but during most of the runtime, my attention was too preoccupied with existential questions about how a film like this gets made, who agrees to participate in its production, and how it winds up in my player. Luckily, the Arrow Video BD special features were there to answer such questions at the end.

I kinda hate when they create these cool-looking artistic covers for movies that suck :) It's misleading......maybe intentionally.

Indeed :) But it also makes me wonder why Arrow would release it in the first place.

No wonder there... because Microwave Massacre rules (to those of us who enjoy it's heavy helpings of cheese)!

Not my flavor of cheese, but it's definitely cheese for those with the taste for it.

    Cheese recognize cheese.
