I feel the same way. Over at Blu-ray.com, someone who received both double features early mentioned that the other twin bill of The Gorgon & Two Faces of Dr. Jekyll indeed looks better. They said that The Gorgon had the best video quality of these 4 films.

That is disappointing. I figured for the price (Amazon pre-order $8.99) they wouldn't be stellar releases but of course I hoped for the best.

Ugh. Not a major investment to pick these up, but these releases sound like the embodiment of the term "half-assed." What a bummer. Nothing worse than a company like this. The odds of these films ever getting legit HD releases are awfully slim.

It sucks because Mill Creek used to put out some quality Blu-ray budget double features (also licensed from Sony) years ago. They used to have lossless audio, good encodes, and usually even optional subtitles. They've curiously gone downhill since then, and almost every recent release of theirs has had quality issues.

That sucks to hear- I've really appreciated their 8-movie for $5 packs, even though there were definitely a few dicey moments with a few movies (D.O.A.; Meg Ryan). And they didn't fucking fix Perfect (John Travolta, Jamie Lee Curtins)- they didn't get the original widescreen print, they just cropped the fullscreen DVD into widescreen. Which...ha ha; already cropped/chopped from the original print.

I just got their Shakes The Clown blu-ray. Didn't realize Mill Creek was doing slipcovers now.

Although I also got a slipcover on their recent The Secret World Of Alex Mack: Complete Series DVD set, I guess I just wasn't expecting it on one of their $5 blu-rays.

They are also releasing YOR: The Hunter from the Future on Blu-ray on 1/16/18: http://www.millcreekent.com/yor-the-hunter-from-the-future-35th-anniversary-edition-blu-ray.html

It looks like that will have a Slipcover also. Plus, a new audio commentary with Reb Brown!

One of my guilty favorites, but alas I'm sure Mill Creek will just give it an antiquated MPEG-2 encode. It should hopefully be better than the old MOD DVD-R at least.

I'd love to see the 5-hour Italian cut released somewhere, but an English-friendly release seems to be wishful thinking.

I hope The Principal is one of the Sony titles Mill Creek has acquired. Love that flick.

I was just thinking about The Principal a few days ago. I hope they release it as well. That would be a real blast from the past. Out of Bounds would be a welcome release too.
