I saw that movie in the theater the day it came out with absolutely no idea what it was about, a rare example of a film I went into totally "blind". I liked it.

This is my favorite end-of-the-world movie. Bought the DVD blind when it was first released and quickly fell in love with every aspect of the film. Don't know if I want to double dip for a marginal upgrade in PQ, though. I was thrilled when Kino announced their Blu-ray release and it's a fine package overall but the PQ leaves a little to be desired. The print they used has plenty of surface dirt and is a bit on the soft side but it's still serviceable. This looks like an effortless Arrow throwaway release.

Fair enough. But did you see the Kino disc? If yes, is Arrow's really better? I need honest opinions on this. I wouldn't mind having a double of this in my collection but only if it's actually better.

Yeah i had the kino disc which i thought looked pretty fine for a lesser known cult film on kino, the arrow disc looks better, better grain, better color and more depth
