I just noticed this! Too cool for words. I just hope that by that time WB sees the error of their ways and will stop releasing movies in snapper cases.

This is exciting news, indeed, as I've been waiting for the uncut version of TTBOD for ages. I've waited so long I've become a vampire myself! :nervous:

Thanks for the great news, Hammerfan!

If we want "Curse of the Werewolf" (or "Evil of Frankenstein" or "Brides of Dracula", for that matter), then we'll have to light a fire under Universal's ass. They hold the rights to those three.

Someone please light a fire at universal. I mean a REAL fire in the executives offices. What could they possibly lose?

I believe Warner has a few more Hammer titles to their name. Perhaps in 2005 we will see the classics TROG and DRACULA 1972 A.D. make it to DVD.

Aside from Joan Crawford's hilarious try at playing a scientist "Dr. Brockton" we are also treated to the likes of Michael Gough...a staple of British horror. I remember staying up until the wee small hours of the morning watching this on TV as a kid. It was definitely religated to the late, late show as I recall.

I believe there are some other Warner titles I am missing, but I can't recall. These two have already been on VHS for years.

Perhaps Universal will get on the bandwagon and pull out their titles from the vaults. Warner, Paramount and Columbia have all made noble efforts (although why Columbia has ignored THE GORGON is beyond me).

Forgot to mention this quote from Joan Crawford before her death:

"If I weren't a Christian Scientist, and I saw Trog advertised on a marquee across the street, I'd think I'd contemplate suicide."

I guess it was a good thing she didn't live long enough to ever see this on the video shelves!

Chirst, I hope so. WB UK have abandonned snappers now, but their old horrors are released in box sets, packaged in Digi-Pack type things. I don;t like this myself as it would stop me keeping all of my sequels in order, across different series. So, so far far I've picked up r1 alternatives. I don;t want a digi-pack box set and I don;t want snappers! :fuck:

    TROG wasn't Hammer.
    Personally, I prefer SCHLOCK.http://www.horrordvds.com/vb3forum/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=177668#

I wish the Skull with cushing and lee would get a dvd release. Was that Amicus or Aip maybe ? Wonder who is sitting on that one. How about the other Dracula movie with lee? Was that a Franco movie?

    THE SKULL was Amicus.
But I agree, would love to see that released on DVD.

I wish that Warner would go back and correct all the mistakes on the CURSE OF FRANKENSTEIN and HORROR OF DRACULA DVDs.
