In the last few weeks some horror heavy hitters have been announced here for the 2013 fall campaign. From Jason to John Carpenter, which release are you most excited about?
I would have voted for Shout's Vincent Price set - but that Friday the 13th Complete set is a must too. If the 35th anniversary BR of Halloween really happens then that might move to first place.
Nothing major on my list yet to be honest with everyone. Seems like every year we just get new versions of old blu rays. There is tons of slasher films lost and never seen the light on any digital format.
A toss-up between In the Mouth of Madness, Prince of Darkness, and the F13 box set. I went with Mouth on a whim.
Anyway went with Friday the 13th: The Complete Collection. Other then Snuff there doesn't appear to be any lesser known movies. I guess if a movie isn't popular or well known we are SOL.
Then that is probably the most worthy out of all of the above because the original DVD release was sourced from video and not film elements. But honestly I'm not excited about any of them because I already own them all and these would just be upgrades. It isn't as if they've never seen the light of day in the digital age before.
I hate to admit it because I swore Bill would never get another cent from me, but I'm looking forward to Just Before Dawn on Blu so I can finally get rid of that god-awful Media Blasters DVD.
The Vincent Price Collection is what I want the most. Also excited about The Haunting (1963), The Monster Club, Prince of Darkness, and Psycho II.
Had this poll been created before yesterday, I would have voted Day of the Dead for sure despite already owning three different versions of it on blu-ray as it is. I am just too pumped for In the Mouth of Madness. I'm also excited for the Kentucky Fried Movie, the Halloween and Exorcist Anniversary editions and especially for the Dark Knight Ultimate Trilogy box set.
PRINCE OF DARKNESS for me. So much so that I preordered it through Shout, paying roughly $29, to get that awesome poster. MONSTER CLUB is a close second. As for there not being a lot of new-to-DVD titles, I'm confident many of those will surface sooner or later. When they do, it'll just be that much sweeter when combined with all the great upgrades. Arrow has some interesting stuff coming out as well, for those of us with region-free players. SQUIRM comes to mind.
