Well, if people who loved Last House were ordered to be committed, than I'm afraid a lot of us would be in the loony bin right now. Boy, I'd sure hate to show you I Spit on Your Grave (which is two times more brutal than Last House) or even Nekromantik. I can't say I liked Nekromantik, but I do enjoy Last House and I Spit simply because they are true horror films. While the plot twist in Last House is a bit outlandish and unbelievable, the rape aspect to both of these films is what makes them truly horrifying. If you are easily offended by films such as these, don't condemn other people who do like them.

Where exactly does this film glorify rape? Still seems like a dastardly deed to me. Last House tackled the issue of Rape in a realistic manner. It didn't beat around the bush. By toning the rape scenes down, all that would've done is make it appear less ghastly, thus making rape more acceptable. I commend Craven for showing us the darker side of life.

But you aren't a true horror fan like Gothic Queen ryan, that makes a difference.

I Spit on Your Grave rocks. I love the strong imagery of
Jennifer, with her arms above her head, holding up the axe while she's in the boat.

I agree, and also with what Grim said - a film that glorifies rape makes it looks like a good thing. I know of no such film. I think Last House (and I Spit, for that matter) succeeds as a horror film because it does what it set out to do: make rape look like a horrible, disgusting act of violence.

I'd say Gothic Queen deserves to be a Horror Legend. Where is Valen when you need him?

"Even SHE couldn't sit though it" , Last House must be something CraZy!!

Nekromantik 1 and 2 had to be one of the most disturbing. I tried watching the 1st one, and watched about 10 minutes, and turned it off. I have yet to see the 2nd one. The 2nd disturbing movie is Maniac, which I have the LE Tin, I Spit on Your Grave was disturbing, but I also have the ME, Last House On The Left, which I have on DVD; Cannibal Holocaust, which I have on VCD; Cannibal Ferox, AKA Make Them Die Slowly, which I have on DVD. Faces of Death, but it still facinates me, and I have all 4 movies on DVD.

Due to the amount of praise I Spit On Our Grave has been getting on the site, I think I will invest in the dvd and give it a second chance. Last time I saw it was about fifteen years ago and I was unimpressed but my opinion of many films has changed since then. Are the commentary tracks on the Millenium edition any good...Anyone remember a low-budget rape/revenge film called Demented, that was a weird one.

Joe Bob's commentary is priceless. That guy is a riot.

You've made a good investment, my friend. Both commentaries are excellent, but Joe Bob's is the best just because it is humorous... really helps to cut through the seriousness of the film itself, and soon you'll be wondering how you can be laughing while watching a film like I Spit on Your Grave.

I saw a preview for Demented on my VHS of To All a Goodnight... looks kind of like a Maniac rip-off with a rape/revenge twist. It looked interesting though, so I'll keep my eyes open for the VHS.

Spielberg's "Hook" simply because it incited ME to violent acts.

Julia Roberts' atrocious hair proves just how ugly a multi-million-dollar face can get....and those lame-ass "lost boys" fill me so full of blind rage as to render me unable to recognize my own family. They (and the neighbors) have forbidden me to watch it anymore.

To call it Disturbing doesn't even come close.

Demented is totally worth seeing if only for the big titted heroine's melodramatic to the point of hysteria performance and a career defining performance by porn star legend and donkey dick Harry Reems.
