Goodbye Uncle Tom was not an easy watch for me.
A classic piece of cinema. I don't know if it's fucked up but it sure kicks my ass.
Terrifying Girls' High School: Lynch Law Classroom was pretty fucked up. In that groovy kind of way.
Salò was pretty intense. I felt "dirty" after watching it.
Anyone know where I can get a copy of Niku Daruma (Tumbling Doll of Flesh)? Is it even on dvd?
Requiem For A Dream....i sobbed after watching that no lie i
wanted to talk to my mom.
Haven't turned off many movies in the past, but the prolonged rape scenes in I Spit on Your Grave did the trick. I hear the actual revenge part of the film is much better, but the first half was just too much to sit through.
I agree that Cannibal Holocaust wasn't as bad as advertized, but I'll make a caveat for the turtle scene. Actually cutting up that huge turtle for the sake of adding a cheap punch to an otherwise mostly cheesy film seemed like a waste of a really cool turtle.
probably Dead Alive will always be among the most "f***ed up" movies ever!
Hahaha I had the EXACT same reaction. Incredible film, but I have no desire to watch it again.
Here's my list of fucked up films:
The Holy Mountain
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Tokyo Gore Police
Erotic Nights of the Living Dead (terrible film, but the mix of XXX porn and zombie carnage make for some pretty fucked up viewing)
Last House on Dead End Street
Bat Pussy (The mystique surrounding this 'porn' cannot be denied... or forgotten)
I'm sure there's more, but my warped mind can't bring itself to remember them all. It's probably due my brain's defense mechanism trying to supress the horror....
add Martyrs to the list for sure!
Also, Evil Aliens (hilarious and really messed up! Very reminiscent of Bad Taste, which should also be added to the list....)
since no one mentioned it already, slaughter vomit dolls
heres the trailer, pretty self explanitory:
Take a look at Simon Rumley's The Living And The Dead.
Definitely one of the most fucked up movies I've seen in the last few years.
Just incredible acting, and a bizarre twisted story.
Great list that I was more of less going to write, except Tokyo Gore Police didn't have that much of an effect on me, and I find that I Spit on Your Grave is oddly watchable, with some unintential laughter for me (don't know why, but I find a lot darkly amusing about some of the non-rape stuff), and of course especially cause of the excellent Joe Bob Briggs commentary track.
And to your fine list that I pretty much totally agree with, here are what I wanted to add:
Requiem for a Dream (quite obviously)
Salo: 120 Days of Sodom
Black Sun: The Nanking Massacre
Boys Don't Cry Both (chronicales the last few weeks in the life of real life Transgendered person Teena Brandon from rural Nebraska)
Cannibal Ferox (aka: Make Them Die Slowly)
Men Behind the Sun
Capturing the Freidman's (very compelling documentary)
Paradise Lost (original documentary)
Ichi (1) The Killer
Flowers Of Flesh & Blood
The Untold Story
Happiness (very dark comedy. Most certainly isn't for all tastes)
Baise-Moi (Fuck Me). Violent French rape & revenge crime thriller from 2000. Now long out of print on standard definition DVD, by the way.
I've seen alot of movies in this thread, but there's one I've wanted to see that's fairly new.
I read in Rue Morgue that there was an indy film released last year that featured 2 girls in a movie that played out like a chick flick. However, they meet two guys and get brutally murdered, and then the movie just ends. I can't find the name of it for the life of me though.
I have two on my dvr now that are very disturbing to me. Boys Don't Cry and Bully.
The August Underground series.
A Night to Dismember.
Evil Dead Trap.
Entrails of a Virgin.
To this day, I've not seen the August Underground films, but I'll try YouTube clips. I hear many say it's just pointless gore-for-gore's sake, but I'm an open-minded guy, and I'll give'em a try. Also Entrails of a Virgin is a damn good, nasty one.
Man, I've seen alot of gross flicks, but I could NOT sit through August Underground: Mordum. Just a horrible, depraved film and an awful thing to sit through and attempt to enjoy.
Although ironically enough I met the actors and film crew and they're actually really nice people. Go figure!
I'll see your very fine list, and raise you:
Emanuelle in America
Red to Kill (way, way, way too politically incorrect these days!)
Daughter of Darkness
I remember being pretty bored by Entrails of a Virgin, I was expecting a lot more. Entrails of a Beautiful Woman on the other hand... :] Tumbling Doll of Flesh tops them both in terms of being fucked up but it's quite boring too.
