I was always partial to "Hellroller", about the wheelchair-bound slasher, and "San Francisco Ball", an XXX-slasher from the early 1970s...

Are UNMASKED PART 25, HONEYMOON HORROR and SCREAM BLOODY MURDER all obscure films? I've got them all sitting here on my shelf... How about these flicks...

    HORROR HOUSE ON HIGHWAY #5
    DEMON LUST
    FORCED ENTRY
    (1972 XXX, Director: Helmuth Richter)
    VICIOUS!

Well the title wasn't most obscure slasher for RickMoe:D I don't think most people have ever heard of 1973's Scream Bloody Murder so that's why I selected it.

Rick have you seen Bloodstalkers? I have a vhs of it. Pretty cool little flick that I wish would get a dvd release.

Is Vicious an obscure film? I've got it sitting here on my shelf. Matter of fact, Vicious has more in common with films like Last House on the Left than your traditional stalk-n-slash flick... It ain't a slasher by my account.

Dead Girls from 1990 is pretty obscure I'd say. Course, RickMoe may have it sitting there on his shelf.

    J/k with you, btw.

Nobody knows what I'm talking about when I discuss Fatal Games, so I guess that's my most obscure choice...though I'm sure there are plenty more obscure than this.

Sorry guys, didn't mean to sound like a prick. I just thought those titles were pretty common amongst fans. I know SCREAM BLOODY MURDER was one of the widely popular trailers found on the old TOOLBOX MURDERS VHS back in the day. You're right about VICIOUS! too... it's much more of a Ausie rape/revenge flick than a slasher (but I thought it was more obscure than say UNMASKED PART 25).

And yes, I also have DEAD GIRLS sitting on my shelf.

According to the various plot summaries floating around, it's a British satire on slasher movies much like "Strangler vs. Strangler".

  15. If anyone has Spine, contact me!! And I'd say both Video Violence movies are obscure as hell.

I'll side with you on that. I really didn't think Unmasked Part 25 was all that obscure (to us of course)... It's kinda funny, mention that to someone on the street and you'll probably get the strangest look ever, though.

As for the "golden era" of slasher flicks, the early 80s, three fairly obscure ones come to mind - Madhouse, Stagefright (aka Nightmares) and American Nightmare. This particular time period is without a doubt regarded as the best and most popular when it comes to slasher films, but those 3 films often go unnoticed (American Nightmare w/ good reason as it's pretty sucky).
