That's what I've heard. Fingers crossed he's involved and it's uncut.
Yeah, that confused me. I expected to see Paramount attached.

#1 Can't wait! I hope that both this and the Friday the 13th's are uncut...

#2 That was horrible Mark, and I don't think I will be able to sleep at night...

Thank God you fixed that :sperm::nervous:

We just need the UNCUT scenes.

Afterwards, some fan will be able to stitch the cut scenes back into the film, making a final compelete VERISON.

Why can't they just do that in the first place. The scenes are there. The movie doesn't play the best as it is. You can tell where the cuts are.

Wasn't the rights with Paramount to expire some time back? If so, that could explain how Lionsgate is doing the remake (i.e. they snatched the rights).

That would make sense. We should email Lionsgate and see if we can get any feedback.

Lionsgate is a hard company to nail down. On the one hand, they're all about unrated releases: High Tension, The Descent, all the Saws. On the other hand, they often times release lazy, full-frame, VHS rips like Night of the Demons 2 and the Prom Night III / IV double feature (and, of course, III was cut). If they want this release to sell, "unrated" is the way to do it.

"The original that inspired the hit 3D movie in an all-new UNRATED director's cut!"

We'll just have to wait for final details.

If the new DVD contains only the R-Rated cut then I wont buy it. Same reason I held off the F13 set. Screw extras, I want the gory goods :)

They're going to have to give me something new for me to get this.....an uncut print would be nice.

The Prom Night disc was an Artisan release (but then again, Lionsgate did buy that company, so what does have to say about them? lol).

Even if they just add the scenes in like what Anchor Bay did with Silent Night Deadly Night, it would be an improvement.

Just clean the deleted scenes as much as you can and throw them in there. They don't have to look perfect.

I'm pretty sure all the negatives still exist with either the director or producer. So seeing as they've probably been untouched in a box for some time they shouldn't need much work.

Awaiting further announcements with fingers firmly crossed! My interest in this release is 100% dependant on those cut scenes being reinserted.

Yeah, let's play Hungry Hungry Hippos!

True, but Lionsgate is no innocent in this department. They're a real scattershot company when it comes to the quality of their DVDs.

No kidding. They can do a really quality job, or an ultra-shitty job. You can almost flip a coin with them.

I forgot about that one. I bought the R2 DVD which, I believe, has even more footage than the US unrated cut.

LOL that's exactly WHY they'd need restoration work. 27 years in a box...yeah they won't be in very good shape lol. I'm thinking of just emailing Lionsgate.
