I came across an imported DVD on the shelf of a video store, it's My Bloody Valentine. The text and synopsis on the front and back cover are in French & the DVD is from Paramount too. Wonder if this French version (also has English audio in it) is unrated? Anyone can help out here?

Thanks for the info, man! But since u mentioned "no cut", why did u state "theatrical R-rated version"? R-rated version is cut, isn't it supposed to be unrated?

  6. There is no version of My Bloody Valentine on DVD that's uncut...when they say no cuts they mean no further cuts from the theatrical hack job version.

Most likely not, as the uncut footage was only re-discovered by the original producers a few short years ago.

    Though I guess anything's possible.

ALL prints currently on vhs or dvd from everywhere on this whole planet is cut.............................................

the closest thing to a complete print was an original u.k. run on a double bill w/ the funhouse..... and this print was rumored to have the scene where harry warden gets his arm ripped off after it was stuck in the rocks of the collapsed mine..........

I've heard that this movie was cut up badly and since it is one of my favorite slasher movies I would love to see the uncut version. However since it is owned by Paramount (bastards) I doubt the uncut version (if it exists) will see the light of day. We're lucky it's on DVD at all.

Hell, knowing Paramount they probably lost the footage that was cut out.

Paramount doesn't have the footage. Well, they might. Who knows.

The original producers, Andre Link and John Dunning, DO have the footage, though.

The current American DVD is censored.

I watched it again last night and it is obvious that there is plenty of room for more gore to be shown. Most of the deaths are not violent at all. The only gory scene is when the sheriff opens the dryer and old Mable pops out. I liked Mable and all but this was a great scene. I also love when the dogs outside the police station are licking at the box that contains another heart. Call me sick but that scene cracks me up.

I think Paramount has a clause that allows them to buy the rights for one dollar when their sole ownership rights expire

I've seen still photos of the parts that were cut out and they kick ass. They should definetly be added to a new DVD release of MBV.

I will always be hoping for an uncut release of this one, as it is one of my favorite slashers. maybe somehow paramount will let it go and we will eventually see something from AB or Blue Underground. At least we know that the uncut footage is still out there!!
