Wow, Bat Pussy? Apart from some Vinegar Syndrome stuff I got for free I don't really watch or collect old porn at all but I think I'm going to have to get this one for the title alone.

The Amazon pre-order price for The Zodiac Killer is down to $21.15. At that price, I'm in.

I need Zodiac Killer AND Bat Pussy, I am amazed Bat Pussy is going to be on Blu Ray, that's the last film I ever expected to come to blu ray, I mean now of course we're moving to 4K, I plan next year to buy a 4K TV, and a 4K blu ray player, I would buy one now, but I'm waiting for them to put the ATSC 3.0 tuners in them, I know some of of the LG 2017 TV's have them, but they are the only ones with them, next year they should all have them, I'm not buying one this year and then have to turn around in a year or 2 and have to buy another TV with an ATSC 3.0 tuner when they switch over later this year or early next year.

I like be that Bat Pussy is part of what's driving your 4K upgrade.

Hoping that these discs have the same amount/type of wacky extras that the Something Weird discs had. It was like a demented Christmas crossed with an Extras menu.l

Woah, damn, FullMoonStreaming just picked up the SWV catalog. Pretty big slate of their usuals already. And they're showing Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! ?!?!

Did SWV wrestle Russ Myer films from his crooked estate lawyer?

I was just about to cancel my FMS account after getting all the new Elvira's, but maybe I'll hang on a bit longer now...

So, has anyone gotten/watched The Zodiac Killer yet? I'd never seen it before and was hoping for gritty, but the movie is pretty threadbare. There is no real sense of structure. A pair of cops are seen working on the case and then abandoned. We get some poorly executed and strictly unnecessary bit character scenes and kill scenes lacking urgency. Hal Reed as the Zodiac is a pretty boy and interesting enough to watch, but the character writing is all over the place. I wasn't totally into ZK, but it's and interesting curiosity and I'm very happy to have it.

For a more compelling example of 70's serial killer cinema, look no further than Deranged... or The Town that Dreaded Sundown... or The Toolbox Murders... or The Dark Ride. Of course, none of those were made in an attempt to catch a real-life killer. :p

I actually just watched The Zodiac Killer last night. I'd never seen it before either, but found it hilariously fun. I've always been interested in the actual Zodiac murder case, but always passed this one up as it seemed to have a bad reputation as an actual film. It does follow some of the murder details quite closely...it's just the back story of the "killer" and the people he knows which make the film seem like a comedy-fest at times.

The bonus film Another Son of Sam on the disc (in 1080p also) has an even more bizarre structure as a film. WTF? I'm still trying to figure that one out...

There was also a restored HD trailer for The Toolbox Murders on the disc, so I'm wondering if AGFA are re-releasing it at some point too?

I'm also glad to have The Zodiac Killer on blu-ray. It's a terrible film without much redeeming value, but the over-the-top kills are comedy gold. How bizarre is it to see realistic recreations of actual Zodiac crimes juxtaposed with the most unintentionally hilarious WTF? fictional killings imaginable? I also enjoy the killer's protracted third-wall-busting monologues at the beginning and end. They occasionally straddle the funny/creepy line effectively.

As humorous as I find some of the fictionalized murders, I can imagine some people being truly horrified. This is a mean-spirited film that identifies more with the gleeful killer than any of his cardboard cut-out victims. I constantly found myself thinking, "no way..." only to be rewarded with the most distasteful scenarios imaginable over and over. No one would dare to discard empathy so completely today.

I actually didn't follow up ZK with Another Son of Sam immediately (I watched the primitive yet oddly entertaining Nurse Sherry instead) - I figured one serial killer misadventure was enough for one night. :p But I'll no doubt find time for ASS soon - you've got me intrigued.

For me while the fictionlized murders are conceptually horrifying, their impact is somewhat lessened by their execution. ;) I appreciated the introduction by Paul Avery, stating something to the effect of the movie not having been made to win any awards. Yeah, no kidding!

I really like The Toolbox Murders and would consider double-dipping if the 88 Films release improves upon the Blue Underground one, but if there's a chance AGFA might release it, maybe I should wait.

There's also a trailer for Three on a Meathook on the disc, and I'm a fan of Girdler's output, so that I would love for them to release! :D

I thought the mean spiritedness of the film was a brilliant gesture on the part of the filmmakers as it was probably part of the lure. Seriously there needs to be a movie about the making of this movie. Entertainment Weekly just did a great article about it.
