The new G looks similar to the one in Godzilla Vs Destoroyah. I like!

Sweet!! They are still using a guy in a suit :)
Was worried that they would break that tradition with the reboot, and go with CGI.

Though, I am a little bit worried that it will be too serious in tone.
I want some cheese in my Toho films, and another monster for him to fight.
But this is just a teaser, I guess, so let's wait and see what the next trailer brings to the table.

I'm so happy that Toho Godzilla is back!
Let's hope that they keep releasing a bunch of movies during the next 10 years or so.

I thought the CGI Godzilla in the US reboot was fantastic.....

...saying that I'll always prefer a man in the suit.

    This looks AMAZING.

I agree. He looked great :)

Though I doubt that Toho would get a budget big enough, to deliver that kind of CGI, in one of their own movies, so I'm glad that they kept it practical.

And now we get the best of both worlds. Awesome CGI Godzilla in the US films, and Awesome guy in a suit in the Japan films :)

Love the design of the new Gojira, as he looks pretty fucking pissed off :D

I'm interested to see this but the new Godzilla looks pretty damn terrible movement wise. Do those itty-bitty arms move at all or are they just always facing up to the sky? Maybe the trailer is being a bit deceiving in that aspect but it seem the Godzilla from the very first movie has more movement than this one. Also his tail looks bigger than he is. Time will tell I suppose.

I second that!! Huge Godzilla fan here. Always have been. I am soooo glad that they didn't go CGI. I am old school and just love the whole range of Toho films, not just Godzilla. That being said, I also loved the new CGI Godzilla. I hope Toho makes films for years to come.

Man in suit! Man in suit! Love that they keep making these alongside the US version.

It almost seems worth patronizing the US movies if it means funneling more money to Toho to keep making Godzilla in their fashion.

Wish they added the classic Godzilla theme to the trailer.
Godzilla DOES look more stiff than usual.
When those helicopters unleashed all they had at him, even directly into his head, there was no reaction at all.
Yes puny missiles etc, never hurt him, but he always got annoyed by them, and stumbled back a bit, before kicking ass.
But maybe he is just so fucking pissed off, he just don't give a damn anymore :D

Loved that shot with him, at 1:13 into the trailer :)

Hope we don't have too wait too long before the movie reaches the international market.

He does look stiff. I don't know why, but this film reminds me of Godzilla 1985 (Return).

Funimation announced acquisition of Godzilla Resurgence at SDCC2016:
    http://www.funimation.com/blog/2016/07/21/announcements-from-san-diego-comic-con-2016/

And later the press release announce a theatrical release by end of 2016!:
    http://www.funimation.com/blog/2016...ures-rights-to-shin-godzilla-in-all-americas/

Sweet! Back when Godzilla 2000 was released I was an angsty teen and was too cool for a modernized Gojira so I didn't go, even though it made it into theaters all over my small town. I rather regret that now (especially after seeing 2000 at home and it was damn good) so I'm not going to miss this!

And some Godzilla fans all y'ah all turned out to be! It took the MST3k fan to post the news!

I'm not feeling the trailers with that music oddly playing over it all. Hopefully it's fun, though it looks to be a pretty serious film.

I'm totally digging the design so far. Gigantic tail swiping at shit with a zoomed out camera shot really accentuates his size, and that monstrous toothy head looks as intimidating as the original Gojira.

From what little I've seen it's the best 'zilla design since GMK, which I thought was fantastic.

Godzilla has some new tricks up his sleave :)

Warning! This one is packed with spoilers!!

"Shin Godzilla" has gotten great reviews everywhere, and have become a huge Box Office hit in Japan.
Many claims, it's one of the best Godzilla movies ever made :)
It's also more of a horror film, like the original 1954 movie, when it comes to making Godzilla scary again.

Here is a better look at his new Atomic breath.
Reduce the speed of the clip to 0.5. For some reason, the uploader has increased the speed of the clip.
    Once again: SPOILERS!!!!!! :D

Godzilla Resurgence will be hitting US theaters the second week of October in limited fashion. Via fandango.com, it will be playing on Oct 11, 12, 15 & 18 near where I live. Not sure if it's like that else where, but it is coming!!!
