I don't think they would stop doing Godzilla. He's their Mickey Mouse and makes them huge coin. Hell I heard Shin Godzilla was a huge success there.

Isn't this meant to be out on digital media this month? I've been waiting to check this out but there's pretty much no torrents online and the one's I've found are said to be missing stuff and have messed up subtitles.

Bought this on a whim. I'm a huge Kaiju fan, but was quite disappointed with the big Hollywood blockbuster versions of my favorite monsters starting with the 1998 Godzilla and going right up to Kong:Skull Island, visually impressive but so lacking in substance.
Toho's new Godzilla was incredibly entertaining and a film I will surely revisit. It was quite a unique take with the initial appearance of the beast quite different visually from anything I'd imagined. Creative and thought provoking, extremely well acted with a considerable amount of mayhem thrown in. It's a new favorite for me.
    Highly recommended.

Been hanging out to see this. Did you watch it subbed or dubbed?

Subbed, my preference when given the alternative.

Finally got to see it and I think maybe a dub (assuming it's done well) might be an easier way to watch through a lot of those dialogue heavy meetings.
I thought Godzilla was really cool in this one though and also liked that he was regularly evolving. That final shot was very different and a cool concept I hope will get expanded upon should they do a sequel.
I plan on watching this again for sure and think it was far more interesting than the recent American one.

Can't find any solid info about a sequel to "Resurgence", only about the CGI movie and the upcoming Legendary film.

But when it happens, do you guys want something in the same serious style, or do you want something lighter in tone again?
I think I would go for some cheese next, as in a return of the Mecha-Godzilla or some silly space monster :D

Is it true that Toho Japan won't make another film until the American sequels are made?

Watched the dub as well, I think they did a great job and I actually enjoyed it more this way the second time around.

Godzilla's early "forms" are the stuff of Discovery Channel nightmares! Freaky! All the designs are so much more interesting than the noble "bear" look in the 2014 Hollywood version.

I was liking how this was shaping up, but after reading this I will need to stay away. I absolutely could not stand this stuff in Godzilla 1984. I know it's an extremely minor thing, but it's a bizarre Japanese thing that really gets on my nerves and completely takes me out of movies/shows when I see it.
