On a good note today - not all the Miramax catalog is going to EB, Lions Gate has some of them (probably mentioned already, but now proven)!

Today at Wal-Mart I spotted Rounders and Swingers each for $10. I assumed they were EB, but pleasantly surprised to pick up Rounders and see all the dvd features (that matter, the super-weak poker game is gone and not missed) and Lions Gate logos. A stop by dvdbeaver says this smokes the Canadian BD all over. I thought the Candian BD was awesome looking, maybe a bit too orange in spots but so much sharper and clearer than I'd ever seen, and I've watched this movie like 20 times. Just looking at the screens on beaver has my old dvd and BD on swapadvd already (and both claimed, printed and ready to send) and the new BD in the collection.

Here's hoping most of the rest of the catalog goes to LG. They ain't perfect but compared to EB, they are like nice sticky green medical marijuana compared to compressed brown Mexican dirt weed fileld with seeds. Plus they are in the same price range, so which would you rather have? :)

Regarding the Miramax/Dimension catalog--Lionsgate has the rights to 550+ titles, and Echo Bridge has the rights to 251. The breakdown can be found at blu-ray.com:

Looks like some Wal-mart exclusives coming out on BD from Echo Bridge. I seen this posted on blu-ray.com's forum:

    Jackie Chan 4 film set

    Operation Condor
Operation Condor 2: The Armour Of God
    Jackie Chan's Project A
    Jackie Chan's Project A2

    http://www.walmart.com/ip/17354546

Children of the Corn 4 film set

Children Of The Corn III: Urban Harvest
Children Of The Corn IV: The Gathering
Children Of The Corn V: Fields Of Terror
Children Of The Corn 666: Issac's Return

    http://www.walmart.com/ip/17354547

From Dusk Till Dawn 4 film set

    From Dusk Till Dawn
From Dusk Till Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money
From Dusk Till Dawn 3: The Hangman's Daughter
    Full Tilt-Boogie

    http://www.walmart.com/ip/17354541

    Hellraiser 4 film set

    Hellraiser: Bloodline
    Hellraiser V: Inferno
    Hellraiser VI: Hellseeker
    Hellraiser VIII: Hellworld

    http://www.walmart.com/ip/17354554

    Dracaula 4 film set

    Dracula 2000
    They
    Dracula 2
    Dracula 3

    http://www.walmart.com/ip/17354530?findingMethod=rr

Why is Hellraiser 7 not included? 4 and 8 both have individual releases, so they could have replaced 4 (bloodlines) with 7 and had it the DTV BD set! lol I wonder if EB will release these titles solo? God knows, they'll cram all 4 movies onto a single layer disc.

What I can't understand is why they didn't do a blu for COTC 2?

Yea I also have a feeling that they're going to cram them all on one disc. Guess time will tell.

They probably don't have a master for COTC 2 in which they can do a proper HD print, which would explain why the DVD is full screen and appears to be sourced from a video tape.

Sigh. Just after I buy the Children of the Corn 5 and 6 disc. I will probably get the 4 pack. Part 3 is probably my favorite sequel of the series, and I just rewatched and had fun with the fourth one on netflix instant.

Yeah but with the way these BD's are looking does it really make a difference? You do realize that it's EB right?

I'm in for the Children Of The Corn one.

I already bought the Hellraiser double feature, so hopefully they consider releasing the other two on their own double feature.

The four-movie blu-ray sets are out a little early at Wal-Mart, and running for only $10 a piece.

But buyer beware, word of mouth is that these are all four movies crammed onto one disc!

Imagine that! I wouldn't expect anything else from Echo Bridge. Are they single layer blus at that?

So let me get this straight, their Hellraiser blu-ray four pack has Bloodline, Inferno, Hellseeker and Hellworld? Am I missing something? Did they not have the rights to Deader or are they actually incompetant enough to have forgotten that entry in the order of Hellraiser sequels.

I believe dual-layered, but unconfirmed. Wouldn't surprise me if they were single.
