Yeah now the link shows the same exact stuff as the old DVD, and says rated R. I would love to see an unrated cut, though. EDIT: Wait I see where it says NR. And 90 mins? the R cut is 88. Hmmm.
:hum: I'm thinking something was fixed on the item page between the time you posted the thread and the time I checked it out.
This is a reissue. I already have the DVD and it's the same cover. I think it is the R Rated version, not the Unrated version. You can get it from amazon.com for a little over $6.00
If you click on the picture to see a larger version and then refresh the Wal-Mart listing it will show the actual cover. Very odd. I'm holding off on this to get the fully uncut version. I mean, come on, it's down the road somewhere. Most probably when they have to do remastering for the HD transfer anyways.
Lets be honest,,,,,,,aside from the beefing up of the female character......its a vert disappointing movie.
I totally disagree! I love this movie even more than the original. I usually despise remakes but this one is one of the very few exceptions.
I thought it was great!! Nothing can ever take away what the original one has/had/was/is, but I remember seeing this during it's theatrical run,and I thought they did a pretty impressive job updating the tired plot, and infused it with enough changes to keep it interesting without destroying the storyline for fans of the original. I thought the he-man characterization of Barbara was just a little annoying, just because it came along at the tail end of a series of similar characters in horror/sci-fi films, but it wasn't too bad. It definitely provided for one of the different plot twists the film took...I wish it had been gorier, for sure, it didn't quite have that repulsion factor that the original had (and still does, depending on what mood I'm in when I watch it)...
It just didn't need to be made...the zombie makeup is better, I guess, but the zombies in the original were creepier since they looked more like regular people. It's nowhere near as gory as the original, either. I tend to think of it as "Night of the Living Dead Lite." I do own it and watch it on occasion, though. It's not a bad movie, just unnecessary.
