I'm eagerly awaiting the 2-disc of THE STENDHAL SYNDROME. I never bought it previously since the Troma DVD obviously blows and the imports are a bit pricey.

I will only be picking up the new Stendahl Syndrome. Already have the other three Anchor Bay Argento releases (Suspiria, Cat, Opera).

Hopefully Blue Underground gets some more releases out in the future. I remember Bill Lustig mentioned a few other titles they were working on.

    Thanks!

Glad to see someone recognizes Burgess Meredith in Torture Garden! :D

I love the horror anthology films! Amicus made so many of them and this is just one of my favorites. Burgess was brilliant in this role and his costumes were just way the fuck out of hand in the very best way!

Not the greatest cover art, but certainly 1000x better than that Troma atrocity. I will pick this up on street date for sure. I keep repeating myself, but it is worth repeating--Stendhal is one of Argento's best films.

Holy crap - I hope that's the slipcase and NOT the cover. BU blew it on the Bird cover - pretty crap (pity, the theatrical art on that was terrific). Was hoping for better here.

I'm just happy to be getting the movie on a good DVD at all, the cover means nothing...although I do think that is just fine.

Good point, although I think the cover was the one thing Troma DID get right (minus all the extra text)

Oh yeah extra text will really clutter up a DVD cover, the new BU cover of Suspiria is a perfect example. They used the classic ballerina/pool of blood artwork but then cluttered it up with text.

    Check it out here.

I had a recent break in and the sons of piss holes got away with most of my Italian horror DVDs. On the bright side, they took the Troma release of this fine film, which I will be picking up on release day. I was thinking of getting an import... phew! I don't mind the cover at all as it was quite the tense moment in the film. I hope that they have both language tracks as well.

That reminds me, I emailed Asia a long time ago about the dubbing in the film and she said that she only did the Italian track (which is obvious now, I know). Anyway, it would be nice to have the option.

This may not be the right place but can anyone possibly tell me of the "best" release of "Deep Red" out there? I need to replace that one ASAP.... oh, and "Inferno" too.

    Thanks.

Well, you could have had one years ago, a prestine version was released in Italy way back. ;)

People who steal DVDs should be shot to death on sight.

I think about this new cover... that I'll just take the Blue Underground disc and put it in the Troma box. :p

I never liked this movie but I only watched it once via the Japanese LaserDisc release. The only good thing about the movie is that back in the day I sold a boat load of bootlegs from that LD.

Anyways I'm willing to give it a second chance and I have a feeling that watching it in Italian with English subtitles may be the way to go with this title. I don't normally say that with Italian horror films but I seem to recall that I hated Asia's performance and that was probably due to the English dubbing. I am happy the new DVD has Italian with English subtitles.
