No Problem, The Stendhal Syndrome is my favorite Dario Argento film. I am thoroughly satisfied with this latest DVD release. :) I really enjoyed the interviews with various participants discussing their involvement in the project and there is even a few moments of on set footage which pops up during the Argento interview.

Nah - sticking with my excellent Troma disc. Why didn't BU carry over the host of extras starring Lloyd Kaufman?

I just got this about a month early from FESTIVAL OF FEAR.

I was able to get Argento to sign it. Cool, or what?

If anyone wants to know any questions regarding the release, I'd be happy to help out.

I hope Argento didn't make your DVD cover all fucked and plaatic when he signed it. :(

    Oh, congrats! ;)

Ahhh fuck. I didn't pick this one up there..... I didn't know it was an early release....

    Schucks.

I did however get the Suspira 2-Disc, which I guess isn't released until then as well. And that is also signed by Argento! WOOT! I also picked up BU's Inferno and Opera (signed by Coralina).

Here's some screenshots (thanks to Opera 1987 @ Darkdreams) from the Medusa DVD and the new BU SE.Not exactly the same scenes or anything but just to see how different they look.Top is Blue Underground, bottom Medusa:

Both transfers have a very different look. The BU release is heavily filtered and edge enhanced (I read) but the colors look warmer to me.
I preordered the BU disc and that's fine with me.The Italian disc is cheap nowadays but I'm not double dipping for this film.

  16. I picked this up today at Best Buy, so they had it out a week early. They also had the new Suspiria dvd, but I didn't get that one. If you guys want it, you may want to check your local Best Buy's out.

The BU disc is wonderful, but I've heard they filmed an interview with Asia Argento. I wanna know why they didn't include this on the disc! I was looking forward to hearing her thoughts on the film. :(

Hm, I'd have to do some research - but what i recall reading was that the Italian disc hd an interview with Asia on it - with some behind the scenes stuff - that wasn't included. So if by "they" you mean BU, I don't think that's correct. If by "they" you mean someone else, at some other time, then you're correct.

    Thought it required clarification. :D
