Poster looks ok. lets just hope the movie takes place in the late 60's-early 1970, because I think it would be fun seeing a chainsaw flick in that time period. The original was the only one that really captured those vibes of the time period, with Chainsaw 2 having a great over the top 80's feeling.

It's pretty crazy to me how long running and successful this franchise has been. People often put Leatherface/TCM as an afterthought when they're talking about the great horror icons. But after 8 movies, a long list of comics, and even a video game this series keeps on truckin' while others have fizzled.

Getting tired of all these prequels, trying to create a crappy backstory for our favorite killers.
Just make a Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part VIII, and have Leatherface slaughter a new group of stupid teens, on their roadtrip through Texas.
Screw trying to make it different, just give us what we want, some awesome chainsaw action, with lots of T&A and gore :D

To be fair, TCM:The Beginning was a prequel and it delivered. :)

You're right, forgot about that one :D
But even though it was a prequel, he was already the Leatherface we all know and love.
It usually doesn't work, when they show them as "normal" kids/teens, before they snap and turn into the monsters.
Well, unless they are Damien that is :D

I hope they don't turn Leatherface into a pretty boy. He needs to be a freak, if I'm going to take this seriously ;)

Yeah I totally agree. I'm not interested in seeing a pretty boy kid either. I'm hoping this turns out better than it sounds.

I'm pretty sure ol' Leatherface won't be anything like "normal". He's in a mental institution for cripes sake haha!

The fact that the directors who did Inside and Livide are helming, makes me much more interested in this movie than I have any right to be. It sounds like this thing is gonna be gory as fuck and crazy to boot! I love the original series sans remake etc. I even found a lot to love about Chainsaw 3-D! I'm pretty sure the producers know what the fans liked last time around and are going to give us some crazy shit!

After Texas Chain 3D, enough is enough for me. I don't care if the directors of Inside (a movie I absolutely love) are behind this one, I don't need another reboot/remake of one of my favorite horror films of all time.

I haven't seen all of the TCM franchise as not all are available on Region B, but I actually thought Platinum Dunes remake was pretty good as far as remaking unshakeable classics go and absolutely loved the 3D instalment so I hold out hopes for this one too.

I still have yet to see anything that has me excited for this. The poster looks boring and just reminds me of a lot of the dtv shit you see on store shelves.
Maybe when the trailer hits it'll win me over or at the very least have me curious.

Every "Chainsaw" flick is available in the UK - on DVD anyway.

Really? The same thing again?!? Arguably, parts 3 and 4 were quasi remakes. Aside from The Beginning and possibly Part 2, there is very little gore in Chainsaw movies. Plus, the only Chainsaw movie with nudity in, was Next Gen - and that was a stand in!

I'm glad they're doing sonething different. Sounds crazy like the original movies. Plus humour was always a big part of the early movies. So a bat shit crazy prequel to the '74 original sounds good in my book.

Don't know for sure, but it looks like Sam Strike is playing Leatherface. I let you judge for yourself if you think he's a pretty boy or not. But he's certainly not a "freak" by any means imo.

I want to say that I too rather just have a TCM part 8 or whatever and not go back in time. Leatherface character is much more scary not knowing any of the backstory imo. Regardless, I'll give it a chance. Mainly because I like the series and second because of the directors. Apparently the French know their stuff and bring the goods in horror.

I'm gonna try to have an open mind, since I really enjoyed Inside.
    But...

Kinda expected Leatherface to look more like this, even as a child/teen ;)

How do you know they're not going to use makeup on him though? I can't imagine they'll leave him normal looking in the film.

Yeah, I really hope so. But I fear that they will keep him looking normal throughout the movie, and then having him disfigured, after some accident or something at the end.
I'd rather that they would have picked an actor, that already had a special or odd look to him, kinda like Michael Berryman have, or something like that.
But hopefully, as you said, they will use heavy make up on him, and also hope that he can act really creepy and menacing.
I always get a bit worried, when they use actors from soap operas ;)

Hopefully, this movie will surprise me. But I'll keep my expectations very low.
