God, I hope they don't go for that approach. Part of why Leatherface's character is the way he is is due to his freakish appearance/ skin condition. This is meant to tie into the original as well isn't it? If so I can't imagine that Leatherface ever looking or behaving normal. I wonder if he'll even speak proper sentences in this prequel?

Is this from the Platinum Dunes version of Leatherface? I don't ever recall his appearance being touched upon in the original. I just assumed he looked normal but was just mentally deranged. To me, that's so much more frightening.

I was referring to the original as you can see he has a messed up mouth in one of the closeup scenes. He definitely wasn't normal looking.

There was no makeup on Gunnar in the original. Just false teeth he had made by his Dentist.

I always thought of Leatherface, as some inbred freak, that was so damn ugly, that he used his masks to hide his horrible look. :D

Yeah, and with the false teeth and grunting you don't get the impression he's a normal looking guy under the mask.

That's entirely up to the viewer to decide.

Normal to me is walking past someone on the street and not thinking twice about them. Readnecks in general are never portrayed as normal so I never really thought twice about his look under the mask. At the very least I assumed he was a pretty ugly looking guy not necessarily deformed.

I honestly never imagined LF deformed under his mask. He's obviously mentally stunted, and deranged. But I just figured it was his choice.

It was always said, he wears a mask to denote his mood - as there is nothing beneath the mask.

    honestly never though

They are really holding off on revealing Leatherface. A trailer would be nice to see too.

I can honestly say I am not picky. Love all of the Texas Chainsaw films.

Can't wait for a new Leatherface movie! Even the weaker TCM entries are still guilty pleasure fun.

Surely you're not referring to The Next Generation? That Renee Zellweger atrocious waste of 90 minutes? Every other TCM massacre flick is ok in my books..... although I haven't bothered to see the 3D one. But that 1994 flick, help my fuck....... one of the worst attempts at a horror movie ever, in my opinion.

Well now your just being silly!! I liked that film. I kept hearing what a disaster the film was, but then I finally got a chance to see it and I didn't think it was half bad. I thought the way they portrayed Leatherface was kind of odd yet interesting at the same time. I also love the fact that Zellweger and McConahay hate it. Hilarious.

It's the first sequel I believe that has not been censored for an R. I'm hoping this is because the MPAA is more lenient, however I suspect its due to this one being tamer. I hope I'm wrong we will see.
