I've read a couple of articles this morning saying it will have an October release date. This Halloween season is shaping up to be special. As long as Leatherface and Chucky don't drop turds on our expectations that is!

Considering there's not even a trailer for Leatherface I'm not too convinced it's going to be good. Read some people saying that the film had reshoots without the director's involvement as well (no idea where they got that info from though, so who knows if it's true).

Nowadays my expectations are always in check. Just the chance that there might be an awesome new Leatherface flick though, can't help but get kinda excited. I just hope it's released on time for the Halloween season.......then we'll take it from there.

The whole thing does not bode well, the fact it's finished, had a certificate (with no cuts) and it's sitting on a shelf and we've seen nothing. Maybe it's been to test audiences, it's had awful reviews and that's why it's in limbo and they are look at what to do next with it.

I have no hope at all for this one.
Wasn't really excited about seeing Leatherface as a teenager.
We don't need to have an origin story for everything.

Would have been excited, if it was another sequel, with good old Leatherface as we know him, chasing bimbos with his chainsaw :D

Can't argue with you there at all. I can't recall any other franchise that has released two different "prequels". Did they forget about the underrated 'The Beginning' ? LOL There's no need to go back and do another one....... just have another installment of some dope smoking kids crossing through Texas and find themselves at the wrong place....at the wrong time. Formula is proven.

Sad that it's straight-to-VOD. It's a bummer that the once big horror franchises can't go wide theatrical anymore.

Regardless, I couldn't be more excited for a new Chucky and Leatherface movie.

I've heard that this apparently went through numerous reshoots so I'm not too surprised it's coming straight to VOD. Will be curious to see but I've never been too excited for this project in the first place and the constant delays and changes don't help the matter.

Official Red Band Trailer. It picks up as it goes along, but I still have a sinking feeling this is going to be a shitpile.

It's got style I'll give it that, I'm a sucker for anything chainsaw based so I'm there, shame it's not unrated.

I agree that the trailer looks stylish but nothing really blew me away or stood out. I didn't get much of a TCM vibe from it either. I'll be checking it out but my expectations are still low.

I got a bit of the TCM remake vibe, from the sun-bleached, weathered Americana...

Sadly that looks weak. I was hoping it would be a fun entry in the franchise, but it seems to be trying too hard.....
Plus, a release through DirecTV in September and then a limited VOD in October and maybe a few theaters in October doesn't sound too promising, man I would think it would get a wider release on October and at least do decent. I have really low expectations unfortunately.

Going by the trailer, I think it looks like something I would want to watch. I indeed like the directors, and I can already see their touch in the trailer.

I'm sold. Hopefully I'll be able to catch it at the theaters. If not, it'll just be an addition to the October home viewing binge. Looking forward to it either way.

Leatherface, Chucky, Jigsaw, and a friday the 13th this October (literally.....the day.....not the franchise, unfortunately) shaping up to be an October to remember. Either for good or bad LOL
