Well if there's idiots paying full retail for the set then I don't blame them. I don't think even Shout thought they'd sell out at $80.

people clamor for years trying to get a release of the "Cabal cut", condemning the theatrical release as a bastardization of Barker's original intent. Then, when its finally announced, they suddenly become desperate to secure a copy that includes the previously-dismissed theatrical version at 4 times the cost of the Cabal cut alone.

I want the complete package with both cuts and the extra disc. I always enjoyed the theatrical cut, and i cant wait to find out what is on that extra disc.

Not a fan of the limited edition's price tag, especially considering we can get 10 Halloween movies in a box set for only $40 more, but I put my order in. This is one I have to have the best version of, with both cuts and the extra bonus disk. Hopefully I can sell my poster to recoup some of the cost.

Well I hate to do it but I went ahead and pre-ordered it. If it comes up cheaper on Amazon later I will cancel but I don't want to end up with no copy.

I just ordered one myself. I feel sick to my stomach spending $80, but some people on eBay are already bidding $150 for it.

yeah, it does, although no-one knows what the content will be. The 2-disc set indicates that the cabal cut disc will also contain supplements, which I would hope means commentaries and whatnot, which for my money are the most worthwhile anyway. its quite possible that the extra disc will include a real treasure-trove of stuff, but at this point nobody knows. and yet thousands (literally) of people are willing to pay $80 for it (eighty fucking dollars! I still can't get over that!).

based on what Scream Factory posted on facebook, I believe the high price tag is their way of recouping for what ended up being an expensive restoration of the excised footage. the warner deal didn't so much seem expensive, as it did restrictive - they were only allowed to use the theatrical cut as a supplement, not the main feature. so if the expensive part of the set is the cabal cut itself, why is all of that expense being thrown onto the limited edition? why not price them at $30 and $50, rather than $20 and $80? Or why not just make it one big release of the 3-disc edition, and charge $40 for it?

I've not really chipped in on this issue. If I COULD order a copy of the Nightbreed Linited Edition (I'm in the UK) I would. BUT! After now hearing that the AUDIO is not complete, and that some scenes would be SUBTITLED, maybe I'm better off buying the $25 version.

It was great news about finding the actual film footage (which I heard of many weeks ago), but if you don't have the means to compkete the audio track (let alone hiring Danny Elfman to complete the score), it seems like a missed opportunity. Especially when your taking $80 without telling people the fact.

I'd almost support a kickstarter thing, just to get the audio to a better level. Then again, maybe they should've done that in the first place...

Wow I didn't know this. Could they just get the actors back to re-record those scenes? Seems kind of disappointing really.

We're getting something that never in a million years I thought would happen. Who cares if some scenes have subtitles?

If you don't like it, vote with your wallet.

Well the Cabal Cut didn't have subtitles as far as I remember so it's odd.
