Muthuhfuck. Okay, Angelman, I expect a full report (maybe a review???) when you get this!!
100% I'll break it down. ONLY reason I'm doing this is that I sold a comic book for insane $$$ a month ago so I have some money to spend. Otherwise it's pretty ridiculous.
Looks like they closed the ordering window on those initial copies to the FB members of the Occupy Midian group so they got first dibs. Don't think we ever had a chance. I am a big fan of the film, so - you only live once.
I'll pass at $250, especially since it's apparently just VHS workprint A/V insertions. And you just know somebody will torrent this fucker later on.
Now if it were Hellraiser or something, I'd sell my spleen to buy it... but I've never spent even close to that kind of money for a single movie before.
More power to you. I've never understood the appeal to this film. No cut, in my opinion, makes it worth anywhere close to that silly amount.
It was Fletch quote. It's a ridiculous amount but I had a little money to burn, so what the hell?
Was never interested at those prices. The director's cut is very solid so I'm happy sticking with that, especially as the quality is all hd.
I'd LOVE to see a longer cut of Hellraiser with the deleted (and lost?) footage reinstated. None of that US dubbing would be nice too ha.
Wow. That was fast. I might have it by tomorrow.
Came last night. Spot checked it and it's about what you'd imagine in terms of the inserts though the editing and framing were done exceptionally well so it does flow, narratively.
My a/v setup isn't up to snuff for reviews here but I'd love to do a review/comparison for the site anyway. I'm really fond of the film and having all three cuts on Blu gives me a little OCD satisfaction, especially with slipcover.
PQ aside, I'd be interested to read your thoughts about how the The Cabal Cut fares when compared to the original theatrical release or the Director's Cut.
