Just import the UK set. It's pretty cheap and shipping on amazon UK is ridiculously low.

Yeah, just import the UK one. It's very reasonably priced. It looks like WB just plans on releasing the double features here in the states.

The price is great for the box set, but I already own the first film and I try to avoid double dipping these days, and in the end it will be cheaper to just wait for the double feature discs. I don't need a pretty box and I still have my Nightmare Encyclopedia disc for any special features I might be missing out on.

The U.S. is the "hometown" of the Nightmare series. WB will probably release the double-feature discs individually, then follow-up w/ a boxed set w/ more extras later. They're just planning a double-dip as studios often do. The other countries are getting the box set now because the films aren't seen as being popular enough there to sell twice. Anticipating this, and having the original New Line box set and the Blu of the first film, I'll wait for the set. Remember the recent Scream debacle?

I guess the boxset will be chaeper than buying all the double features.

Yeah the boxset on amazon UK is currently 54 USD shipped. Pretty fucking sweet deal.

Well, if the following two double features are $13.99 like the one for 2 & 3, then that makes it $41.97 for all three. That's still cheaper than that box set and I already own the first film on blu. I'm still iffy on it, though, and if I see a killer deal or a US set is announced at a great price, I may go for it.

I'm with you on the double feature discs. If I didn't already have the first on blu, then sure a box set would be nice, but no point in rebuying that disc.

Sounds like a great deal indeed! As for features though, I've got the Legacy of Elm Street documentary. At 4hrs, it'll be pretty tough to beat. I also already own the original on blu. Maybe I'll wait for reviews.

After what release? The US box set? We don't even know for sure yet if that is happening and even if it does, I already own the first film on blu, so it's cheaper FOR ME to just go with the double features. $41 as opposed to the $50-60 the box set would probably be. Why are you so sure? Do you have an inside source at WB or something?

seems like they are giving each film a disc of it's own on the double features. Unless the US release's are each on a BD25 and the European will be on a BD50, then I assume the "quality" of the films would be better on individual discs.....could be wrong

Still, even with the UK set, after shipping, for being in the US and having already purchased the first film, it's cheaper for me to go with the double features and I doubt that will change two weeks after the set is released.

Well I just might give in and order the UK set. It'll cost me $47Au all up with free shipping. That sounds pretty good to me.

Oh and Grim, don't forget this set comes with a bonus disc. So well it may be cheaper to get double features, you're potentially not going to get all the bonus stuff.

I'm not so worried about bonus stuff as I am that WB will pull a Paramount, that they will release this double feature & tank the rest.

There may be a bonus disc, but if you already have the NOES dvd boxset and the two disc documentary that came out, I don't really see what more they could put out that is new.
