I need more than four exclamation points for me to pull the trigger on this set. I need the deleted shots from Amanda Wyss' death scene and the unrated version of ELM STREET 5.

I hear you Marshall. I think that would have been possible if New Line weren't under Warner's umbrella. Aside from the first film, these transfers are not going to blow you away. "Freddy's Revenge" looks better than it probably should, even though the colors are off (especially when they are on the bus in the beginning). The rest of the films transfers aren't anything to brag about.

In all seriousness, thank you for saving me the hassle of reading this whole thread.

Really? Even if the colours are off here this set looks fantastic. Details are great and the clolours (right or wrong) do pop.

Does anyone want the standard DVD box set? It is virtually brand new. I opened it, but didn't even watch any of the DVD's. Pristine, but unwrapped.

For my fellow canadians whom were lucky enough to snag one of the boxsets, only to find they were short the bonus disc, good news! I sent a concern to Warners customer service and they are sending me a prepaid postage envelope to send back my boxset, and get a new, corrected box set. Kind of a hassle but at least they are doing something.

Well unless if your into giving away free stuff then ::::raises hand:::: I will say that set has the Freddy's Dead 3D sequence with the glasses. Not sure if that was ported over into the blu ray release might want to keep it. I don't own any of the films myself cause I'm poor struggling college student. I need to find me a old fat wealthy guy with cash to kill. Oh damn I forgot your married just my luck! [IMG]

Around 8:30PM. I would have picked up "The Innkeepers" if I saw it.

It's not mentioned on the cover and I'm pretty certain it isn't there, not that it really works good on the dvd or anything.
I'm more annoyed that part 5 remains cut even if it sucks, dig out that laserdisc master and crop it to 1.78, done!

So these sets aren't limited or special in anyway other that you can only get em at Best Buy right now, correct? The bonus disc isn't gonna be gone when it goes wide release and gets cheaper? Or is a set without the bonus disc gonna be the wide release?

You're right they do, but they are aparantly wrong. I'll post the link if I can find it again. It's not another "Night of the Living Dead '90" situation, it's just one or two scenes.

No there aren't any glasses. I hope this set sells well enough that they consider an upgrade in a couple of years. The current set is exclusive to Best Buy, for now.

So far I am happy with the set - cant find any faults in packaging or quality that have bothered me yet - it is too bad the Freddys Dead doesnt have the 3-D- but to be honest I really can't stand that one anyways and the 3-D is only in part of it. It is my least favorite by far in the series.

I wouldn't rule out the possibility of the wide release dropping the bonus disc just based on the Canadian wide release situation.

Sorry if my question is redundant but I wish to ask. I know I could google myself a bunch of reviews. I feel more verbal value coming from my own forum friends. Is the blu-ray box set superior to the old DVD set, thoughts? Or is this new release just an upscaled DVD's on blu-ray?

Some of the scenes are a little dark, but detail and color wise the Blu's look a lot better. (<Going by the screenshots below) But you can judge for yourself...
